Isnt there a better way to route the piping? I like the effort but try posting in the for sale/auctions section

Looks like a very complex design compared to what Aaron made for me.

Is it equal length or just tring to be fancy?

It looks nice, but seems to be overkill.

Equal length .. Max difference between pipe is 5 mm !

Rectified plan in the head flange.

I can realize what did you want..
Tomorrow I post a picture of my manifold installed in the car

Its cool that its equal length, but I it seems like if it was planned out better it could have been a bit smaller.

Equal 2 1/2 foot lengths.

I'm forecasting high engine bay temps with a slight chance of cracking and/or something catching fire.

Looks cool... But it also looks like it would make a total mess of the backside of the engine... Haha

Except the length of the pipes are SOOOO long, you're gonna lose a massive amount of energy to heat losses before it makes it to the turbo. Equal number of bends as well?

Not to rain on your parade, but something like this would have been better.. fewer bends, and it's still equal length within a 1/2" iirc.

Holy shit

That's a multitude of bends

Curious to see it on the car. Looks like it will be a PITA to install with the motor in place.

Thanks at all for the reply!
I'm interested to compare a lot of opinion to realize the best manifold.

What is for you the best diameter of pipe, and the best length, for our engine with about 500-600 hp?

To reply a last thread:
There is no problem to install the manifold into the car without removing anything...

Between 18.9-19.4", or 480mm to 492mm when made out of 1.5" schedule 10 pipe, which I decided is a little big for what I want to do. 1.25" schedule 10 will probably bring that length down a few inches. :P

Optimal diameter is gonna depend on whether you're trying to push every last HP from the setup, or if you want to optimize more for better response/turbo spool. I tend towards the smaller diameter, especially if you can keep the overall length and number of bends down. You'll also want it to be matched up to the intake side, so that both have a similar effect on the VE curve. Don't wanna optimize one for 3500rpm, and the other for 5000rpm

For 500hp, the "R manifold" will work too ;)

That's good - I had enough issues with the LG Speed header - aligning turbo, DP, etc. Mine is also AWD, though.

Also mine is Awd ;) ... I have a Volvo 855 t-5r swapped with m58 v70r awd tranny :D ...

What thickness did you advise ?
Thanks a lot for the answer

In my opinion 1,5" (38mm) of pipe diameter is a little bit small. I have seen with 48 mm of diameter it's better for temperature.

What thickness did you use for the pipe?

Two inch manifold pipes? Now that's crazy. Of course you'd get cooler temps, because it's expanding a ton after it leaves the head because the pipe way bigger than the port.

i've seen from my pipe dealer 44,5 mm of external diameter and 2mm of thickness (internal diameter 40,5 mm )...

It's a matter of goals really. IMO, 1.5" is too big for 500-600hp. Keep in mind that 1.5" schedule 10 pipe is 1.90" OD, .109" wall, for 1.682" ID. 1.25" scd 10 pipe would probably be better suited for the power levels you're talking about, at 1.66" OD, .109" wall for 1.442" ID... but even then, may still be a little on the large side for good response and minimal heat losses in a tubular design.
