you don't need anything, it will drop in. The only thing might be the coolant port on the side might need to be changed but you can see that without removing the current turbo.

i recommend wideband, boost gauge, new turbo drain gaskets.

yes, will be fine.
tune soon afterwards, b/c you'll be throwing codes a lot.
you probably won't have to, but you can check the waste gate setting too. There's a thing on ipd's web page "how to" do that. pretty straightforward.

no, and in fact I don't even think it will lean out so long as you don't hammer it. it will continuously throw a code, I can't remember the P-code but it basically translates to too much boost, and boosting too early

but honestly I wouldn't bother driving it anywhere until you have it tuned. that's a great way to end up with an engine rebuild

Gotta pay to play.

I second not driving it with the 18t without a tune.

Haha true. Alright thanks hopefully I'll find a cheap 18t.
I don't know yet I haven't had time to check but I think its the straight, its still has the stock Turbo so it would be straight right?

S60 uses angled turbo. Angled 18T has been used on '99 V70R AWD.

18T's never came on 850's.

I suggest you spend some more time doing research and reading up on what people have done in the past with these cars, the do's and don't, and what will and will not work. This will be much more beneficial than bolting on random parts and not knowing what to do.

You're right, but there have been plenty who have done 18T's on the 850's and S/V/C70's, so even reading up on the general concepts of modifiying on this level will be helpful.

I would suggest contacting Lucky at ARD Tuning (ARDideas.com) with your desired plans and he should be able to provide some suggestions and point you in the right direction.

doesn't matter angled/straight housing anyway, just switch the compressor-side only. That's exactly what I did with the 19T.

yes, tuning is expensive, Lucky @ ARD is making it more affordable for good tunes, but he's still a bit out from getting to the 01 cars. I'm in the same boat as you waiting for a tune.

take the time between now and then to collect the pars and installing the supporting mods.

add tranny cooler if you're running an auto, add ipd HD CBV diaphragm or a blanking plate with BOV
