Hi all,
For those of us who are relatively new to this engine, I'd love to see a thread about "your ultimate engine" listing what parts/mods and why. Every day I'm discovering things new that people are doing. I have a bone stock 2.3 T6 in a '98 V70R that I love.
All that I have done and/or am planning to do is:
- Stage 0, meaning compression test to verify even compression and good engine quality, and tune and verification all parts are in good shape and in spec/no rips tears or leaks in any intercooler boots, all fluids up to spec, and no check engine lights or codes.
- A correct setting of the wastegate (must see this video from IPD on how to: ). Pushing this to 4.5 PSI changes the car. I can also nicely hear the turbo and it just roars at 80 mph all day long now.
- An ARD orange tune (www.ARDideas.com) as I'm happy with 270-300 hp or the additional 30 WHP this tune should supply. Have not installed yet barring some little stage 0 items I'm still finalizing.
What else would you or have you done and why? And / or what would your ultimate engine tune look like? And what are the benefits versus the consequences in price and/or mileage and/or durability?
Thanks and looking forward to your responses...!

thanks...
First step I think is getting a solid code reader for when the CEL comes and and/or making sure there aren't any hidden codes. Funny because I've had so many different vehicles its surprising I didn't have one before. I trusted ipd so far but their Foxwell NT200 they sell is junk (in my opinion) and they may not 100% refund my money because I used it just once and it can't find the code. I'm hoping ipd's Foxwell NL 300 is better but in speaking to people, this unit for European units comes highly recommended and is about the same price after shipping costs of the ipd 300. http://www.amazon.co...0/dp/B002IBJR0S

Welcome to the site.
Give this thread a good read. http://volvospeed.co...d-dont-comment/
Also on the topic of code readers a cheap ebay vag-com odbII cable with a k-line and the demo version of vol-fcr will pull your codes and cost very little.
