I have a 98 S70 T5M and I want to get some better sound. I dont want to spend any money and I already have a full set of s80 speakers. they came from a 2000 S80 T6 w/navi. the speakers look far better quality as they dont have that crappy paper cone. just wanted to see if anybody has done it and how hard they are to retrofit. thanks
i would imagine that the s60/v70 speakers from those years would be also the same

Door speakers aren't the same size. S80 is 6.5 and s70 is 5 1/4. At least for the front doors.

Previous: 1999 S80 T6
Family: 2002 S80 T6, 2005 XC90 2.5T AWD

Wrong. S70 uses 6.5" speakers in all 4 doors.
Easiest way to tell if they'll fit is to pull a S70 speaker and take measurements.

thats what i will do it just happens ther is a s80 and a s70 at my local yard. ill probaly just rip both door panels off and see what needs to be done w.o having to take my own door panels off. the less you have to fiddle with anything plastic in a volvo the better lol.

Must be the 850 that has 5 1/4 then... I was mistaken.
But this is good news since I have some 6.5 speakers sitting in my room that I thought I couldn't use!

No idea what size 850's have, but I have installed some 6.75" (really 6.5") Alpine components and coaxials in the stock brackets without any problems.
