Hey guys,

I have a 96 855R that I threw some IPD blue springs and Koni yellows on. I replaced everything in the front strut, but didn't touch the swaybar or endlinks yet.

Anyway, I immediately started getting "creaking" noises over slow driving and bumps, and I figured it was just the swaybar endlinks. However, a new symptom has arrived - popping when backing out of parking spots. Also, when pulling into parking spots, I can feel the front wheel kinda slide over. Lastly, when backing out of the parking spots, at full lock, I can feel the front left wheel catch and then pop/move.

What's going on? My guess is I need to throw some TKI endlinks on there. Either that, or new LCA (which I have some Kalphenke LCAs, just haven't thrown them on yet).

Thanks homies.
Bobby

Sounds like tie rod. Maybe inner/outer or both. Jack the front up so both tires are off the ground, giggle the tire ( 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock position) side to side and feel for play. You'll probably feel it's loose or clunking. I'd do both pass/driversides, inner and outer and get a good alignment.

Replaced both inners and outers about 5k miles ago with volvo parts. Could they really go bad that quick?

It is the springs rubbing against the bump stop caps, Look up under the fender at the top of the strut and you will see the spring touching the metal cap on the bump stop..I had this happen and so has Tommy.

Re-align the springs on the strut and in the rubber mount

Efff, that means another alignment.

That would cause the tire to catch and slide as well?

The popping and creaking under the driving conditions you described is exactly what Tommy and I both had happen

Yea, I get how that would cause the creaking and popping, but I dont get how that would cause the tire to catch and slide.
