Hi.

Tried to start the car after work, it just cranked but didn't start. Morning it was perfectly fine.
I had start issues before, it started but just after a lot of cranking.
Narrowed my problem down to the fuel pump relay. But never got around buying a new one.

Soooo, now I can't hear the pump working, my guess is a dead relay.. as it is pretty common. But....
Also had problems under boost. Misfires. Replaced spark plugs, wires rotor etc.. pretty much replaced everything, but the misfire still here.
Few weeks ago I saw a topic about this and solution was a boost leak.. I hope thats my problem too.
If not, my next guess is the CPS.
Can a faulty camshaft position sensor cause the engine not to start?

What else can go wrong?

Pump (wagon fuel pump fits to sedans? 'cause my friend is parting a wrecked wagon)
Knock senors?
Coolant temp?? -dunno, might not cause no start issue
MAF? tried to start the car when it was unplugged.. no go..

what else? give me a list...

Thanks
Peter

Wagon stuff will swap directly over to the sedan, there is no difference. Faulty CPS can cause a no-start. If you turn ythe key to the second position can you hear the fuel pump priming? If not your pump is dead. Relay is also something to check, just pull it and check the connections.

Thanks Tommy,
No, I can't hear the pump priming.
I hope it is the relay. I heard dying pump before.. mine was totally smooth, no funny noises etc.

Well if you can't hear it priming then relay would be the first but I would also start looking for a fuel pump.

Just open the relay up, reinstall it, turn the key then touch the relay arm to connect them pump. You can also see if the relay is bad by opening it and looking at the circuit for sagging resistors or blown caps.
