I wasn't paying attention when my brother-in-law started removing this bolt and it snapped. Ironic how it didn't even need to be removed errr...

anyway, this is opinion based so what do you guys think? take the time to drill it out with a lot of swear words or leave it be? as it is still really tight into the block due to it's inset insert on the mount. Idono, it's 36 degree out tonight, I have hardly any heat, bundled up like an eskimo and I really don't want to be drilling haha..

I wouldn't rev it or shift hard without it being replaced, might rip the whole bracket off, normal driving should be fine. But you're probably going to contradict me, so do whatever you feel like.

It's an LPT XC W/ AWD...

So not much power here. It has up and down strength just not side to side. I have to hammer it to get the bracket to pop out of the hole.

Anyway, I have to get back tot he TB side. soooo be back in a bit....

I can't tell from the pictures...How far up in that hole is the snapped bolt? It looks like a right angle drill will let you run a center hole to get an EZ-Out in there, after some PB blaster in the hole (will help the drilling, as well), then heating the aluminum with a small butane torch before turning the extractor out....

Hey Delete, you may want to remove the whole support and see if there is enough shank to get a vice grip on? If not measure the ID of the hole the bolt broke from and see if a drill bushing can't be had, drill the centre of the bolt and try an easy out as Hotfoot suggests?

This situation sux!

Thanks guys, I know how to deal with it. It's more of if I want or need to bust my a$& just to feel "secure".

The vehicle will be in the family for the rest of its life so at least I can monitor it.

My "helpers" have caused me more issues then needed. Lost the tensioner bolt, installed an intake bolt on the head which I have to find now...

I would say fix it, or remove the entire bracket.

If your mounts are torn up all over the car like mine were on the 93, there was a considerable amount of force put upon that engine brace. That being said, i think you'd be fine with it not even installed. Really, how many people have the original bushing destroyed up top and don't even complain/care? Granted if you have a poly it might not flex as much and cause damage...

Just food for thought. I say go out there and get it out, but i put anti-sieze when i put mine back in, since they were not the easiest to access nor the smoothest bolts i have put in. Lucky its not the back one, otherwise you'd have to remove the lower hose :P Not a big deal, but i think clearance is worse on the one in the back.
