Hello Forum,
I've run across an issue while attempting to hook up the Sc-815 in my 850 to my just purchased USASPEC adapter.
I have hooked up the adapter, but I'm afraid I spliced the wrong wires behind the stereo, I used the wire numbering on the large connector (there are little numbers near the socket) and I spliced the red and yellow to the red and yellow number one and two wires. Now, my HU won't clear with the code and I can't get the iPod to play through the adapter.
I am sure that some people have this in their car, and anyone who would be willing to take a picture to show me exactly which two wires to splice would be greatly appreciated. I'm not very confident in my electrical ability when working on cars, so I would prefer not to screw up again.
My car is a 1997 850 T-5, if that makes any difference.
Thank yo very much in advance!

Aftermarket power wire colors follow the EIA/TIA color code:
Red is switched
Yellow is constant
Black is ground
Cars use a wide variety of colors and most brand differ.
Never assume that the colors will just match up.
Look it up and get out a meter and be sure.
Looks like you're trying to pull power off
of our front left dash speaker output.
For your Volvo:
Constant power is Green/Brown on pins A4 & A12
Switched power in Yellow/Violet on pin A13
Ground really is Black on A6 & A14
Still - Always get a meter out and double check.

I'm no electrician, one of the wires is tagged with "accessory" and the other "power" from the adapter, there isn't a clear ground, unfortunately. I guess I'm frustrated because the instructions weren't as clear as they needed to be.
Which do I hook up to the green and which to the violet?

Thanks, wasn't reading carefully so late at night. I'll hook it up and give it a try, is it possible to hook up the wrong wires and ruin the HU? The SC-815 I have won't accept the code anymore.

The HU will only display CODE if it loses power.
If the incorrect code is entered more than 3 times,
it'll lock up and say OFF. Leaving the radio on for
two hours ( even if it does say OFF...) will fix that.
Just be sure that you have the correct code for round 2.
And yeah - If you short a speaker output, you can fry a radio.
Check fuses 7 (constant) and 32 (switched) and check it out.
Hopefully, it's only a blown 7 fuse.
