Hi,
I have a 98 volvo v70xc for about a year now I have been trying to solve a p0455 and occasionally p0440 code I have read alot of threads on the internet, but still no change.

I have a square carbon box up front with the shutoff valve behind left front fender lining. Round evap shut off valve on rad shroud. Starting from intake I have replaced the following
All vacumm hose and elbows from intake manifold to evap valve, to intake tube. All hose from carbon box to roll over valve. Replaced evap valve, shut off valve. Replaced gas cap with new oem volvo cap, did note neck of fuel filler was slightly damaged over years of filling car.( just scratches and chips) cap is always clicked shut at least three times and the tank is never topped off.
There is a check valve in the hose from evap valve to intake manifold and another in hose from evap valve to intake tube I have not changed these valves. Also my carbon box is not cracked or damaged in any way have taken it out and shook it to listen for carbon. ( did note it was made by GM then checked another at the scrap yard found the same thing)

My question is since I have now replaced everything back to the rollover valve (except check valves and carbon box) What is after the roll over valve? Where does the pipe go? Does anyone have any diagrams or pictures of the vacuum routing after the roll over valve. I fear I will need to drop the tank next. Sometimes the code comes back the next day or could be a week before it come back. my code reader shows I/M montiors as well the evap one never completes its check so I never have a green light on the reader always an amber pending trouble.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check out my post of the evap system.

More than likley it's a cracked hose, dry o-ring, or bad check valves.

Your roll over valve is located in the filler neck, it's not that.

I have now eliminated the problem from the front section of the evap system, I have smoke and pressure tested it back to the rollover valve can anyone show me a picture of where the line goes after the roll over valve? Or a diagram? No Leaks from fuel pump either.
