Its this combined with a little extra whp you get from the auto to manual swap that makes it worth it when your running a good amount of power. Its not a god like transformation. But you do reach a point where a manual swap is necesary (over 350whp)
Like you said, pros and cons, no need to do it on a daily driver.

Same goes for dyno, surely you'd be able to put the power down better with a manual tranny.
Don't fully understand what people disagree with.

You've been racing that 850T HARD for over ONE YEAR now(as per your youtube videos), done 10s of power launches(brake tourqing) since you got it? What'd you expect?
Don't toss it to the side, do an M56 swap and keep enjoying it! If not, i'll come over and pick it up for my affiliate...

Don't let the blown trans get you down. It's a cheap junkyard part. Just spend the extra coin on GOOD FLUID and a COOLER. Mine has lasted for who knows how many miles. My auto trans was in a modded 15G car prior to mine with a lot of miles on the ODO. Now, it's seeing near 300+whp and 300+wtq, and it's been that way for a year now. Still seems to be doing OK, though lately, some of the shifts have felt a little funny, so I might be pushing my luck by typing this. lol.
I think the trick is that I don't beat on it from a standing start hardly ever, and I've only brake boosted maybe half a dozen times since I've owned the car. If I do romp on it, it's usually from 65+ on up. I'm running the stock radiator cooler for the trans, though I've rerouted the oil cooler which (theoretically) lowers the thermal load on the radiator and allows more cooling to the trans. It's about to go under the knife, though, and it will get dedicated cooling as soon as I can afford it!

Think of gears on a bicycle. You have a given amount of effort being applied to the pedals (or to the wheels). Distributing that power through 5 gears instead of 4 means more of that power reaching the ground. Each of the 4 gears in the auto are slightly taller, therefore requiring the engine to work harder, for the same given speed, when compared to the shorter gears in the manual.
The reciprocating mass is also lighter being that there isn't a gigantic torque converter and many more liters of trans fluid inside of it sloshing around as it spins up and spins down. That also allows more engine power to reach the wheels.
There's a reason that the manual versions of almost every production car ever made usually publish not only quicker acceleration, but often more advertised HP than the exact same car in the auto version. It's negligible, but the manual variant also typically includes 40-80 lbs of weight reduction.
But this is easily verified looking at 8/70s with the same mods in roughly the same conditions on the dyno. The manuals put the autos to shame given equal conditions.
That all being said...I love my slushbox. I see no reason to switch to a manual trans. When this box blows, I'll be putting another auto in.
