I don't have a meter to test my wires, they are dated 4709 so i guess there from 2009. I've read places you can run a screwdriver along each wire with the motor running and if you see arcing to the screwdriver they need to be replaced, anyone try this, can i use any kind of screwdriver?

Only way to test is with a DVM so you can see what the resistance is.

Although 09 is pretty new so I would suspect you are ok.

We really need a topic with resistance readings for each wire set.

Cylinder # 2 4.0K ohms ±20%
Cylinder # 3 3.3K ohms ±20%
Cylinder # 4 2.9K ohms ±20%

We really need a topic that explains very basic electrical theory and how to use a basic mulitmeter. I see so many people that will scratch their heads and waste hours of time throwing parts at a car when they could spend $20 on a cheap meter and have something figured out in 10 minutes or less.

When you suggest to somebody that its a good idea to use one they act as if you're asking them to design a nuclear warhead. It's one of those things that can save you thousands of dollars and countless hours of troublehooting whether its in your house or on your car.

I agree.. you don't need to buy a Fluke..a basic radio shack meter for 25 bucks will do most anything you need for the occasional repair or trouble shooting..

Set to ohms connect + to one end and - to the other... It's that simple.

Or google it, probably a tens of thousands of articles on how to measure resistance.

You can get a quality Fluke 23 meter on eBay for $30. I would get that over a new generic meter any day.
