So I decided to have a fiddle with the wastegate, I wish I hadn't.
The pin snapped off on both sides, It was super brittle. The hole is now completely blocked, Ive tried hammer and pin/nail. Ive tried drilling it out.
I have no idea what to try next.
Any suggestions?

You could use a push on retainer...... http://www.bakfin.com/

That looks like the solution to my problem! Thanks! Any idea if any hardware/home improvement stores stock them?
Also how do the remove? with a bit of muscle?
If I can't find it locally, any other ideas?
I only have today to fix this issue as I wont have time all week and I've got a lot of miles to drive next weekend.

Have you tried spraying it down with some PB Blaster or similar product to loosen the corrosion?

Yeah, it's almost as if it was one solid piece of metal. If you didn't know there was a hole in there, you'd never know. Looks like a complete piece of metal, no holes, no indentations, and super hard.

Strange... have you unscrewed and removed the piece that has the pin in it. I would say if you can get it off hit up your local JY that has some 850/S70 and get another one. I know my JY has a bunch of them...just call around and see if they have any turbo's in the yard.

Don't think it unscrews, I think it's welded on the underside. A lot of PB and a brad nail with hammer should get it out. I had the same problem and that worked for me

So after a bit of searching various car and home improvement stores, i found something similar to the items in the link although not as heavy duty. It seemed to hold well, i guess time will tell.
Thanks for the help guys
