Had the coolant level light come on and I notice a leak where at the endtank. So I'm in the market for a replacement, I had bought a Behr in the 5 years ago but had it leak coolant into the trans cooler so I put the original one back in. I know the safest bet would be to get OEM, but are the Behr and Nissen quality any better or worse then you used to be? I'd rather not replace this again for the 3rd time... :(

Anyone got suggestions where I can buy either OEM, Behr, Nissen or good brands at a good price?

I don't know about buying an OEM replacement, but what about an all-aluminum one like Hussein installed?

Really don't need one that good, but it would be nice with a drop in intercooler too...

I did consider getting one out of the junkyard but like i said I'd rather not replace this any time soon, so new would be preferred over used... But $40 for a OEM isn't bad... Even it I have to do it every 2 years...

I'm in the same boat. Let me know what you find out. I saw someone on the board that had the end tanks redone with metal but no shop around here would touch something like that. Everyone said it wasn't a good idea.

Bought used lasted a year, got lucky and found a year old nissens in a self service junkyard and bought the new cooling fan the owner put on as well, I would not buy used unless it was recently replaced. Have not had problems with the nissens unit, so I would say nissens

That's what FCP carries. With coupon maxrossi20 (expires in a week or two) that brings it down to $167.96 with free shipping. Looks like that's what I'll be doing then.

I use nissens with great regularity and have comebacks with them, even after years of service.

I used the Nissens 3 core on my 240 before, but heard read some issue with them on the 870. But then I've also read good things about Behr and had one leak at the trans cooler. I'd use that one if I could somehow seal up the leak.

Anyone know of anything to seal that other then Bars stop leak? That will do it but gum everything else up... My buddy and I were driving in he's Gen 2 MR-2 from Montreal to Indy for both F-1 races when a small stone busted his radiator, we stopped off at a Wal-mart in the middle of NOWHERE and grabbed 2 bottles to seal it up, he ran the car like that for 3 years before getting rid of it.... Never leaked again...

Let me know, I can have it tomorrow. Unfortunately I can't make it to the GTG in Falls Church or I would just bring it with me.
