i want to know how much im looking at spending to get it done, and if anyone knows of any good forums as cool as VS for info. thanks in advance, Bill

They call them Panzers... They are pretty bulletproof. My buddies dad owned 2 of those SDL new back in the day... And I thought my w108 was a big Merc....

Jack owns a really nice benz, don't know if it is diesel though. You could try and pm him. JC-GLTR I think is his name on VS.

Try benzworld. Not as good as VS, but what is? :P
On my numerous attempts to purchase a vintage Benz, they've been very helpful.

Jack does not have a diesel. Given the longevity of that generation Mercedes and the number still in service today, I suspect it can't be that hard to work on or fix up. That said you've got lots of resources on the Benzworld forums, which in my experience is a very helpful forum.

They are not to bad to work on. Only thing that could be real bad is cylinder wall cracks. I had a 1992 M-B diesel that had a cracked wall.
