Hey guys. My hoses are old and loose. I see fcp has a set on ebay cheaper than in their store.
I think these are the ones from the first mould used and ive read can be finicky to install.
Do any of you guys have any knowledge Input or thoughts?
Thanks.

Same kit. They can be finicky to install but dipping them in hot water will soften them up a bit and make it easier to install. I haven't had experience with this exact kit but that's what I've done with other silicone hose kits.

If you were looking at getting them I'd say go for it!

I have them, and they work as described. The fit as-is, is less than desirable, but can be remedied by trimming some couplers in certain areas. You will have to fit and check. Otherwise they will rub on close areas and may eventually lead to rubbing through. still worth the money.

I have them.

Small tire levers and silicone spray will be your best friends when installing them. They're tight, no doubt but I didn't run into any issues installing them.

I did it by myself in about 90 minutes. It would have been a lot easier with two people though. I did most everything out of the car and then reinstalled.

I don't think you can beat them for the price.

I have them as well. They are worth the money. Like others said its a tight fit. I stretched them over the bottoms of beer bottles and left them on there overnight. Next day, they slipped on like an OEM hose.
Make sure not to use common hose clamps as they will cut the hell outta the silicone. I found the T style to work best IMO.

they work fine, fit tight and look ok.... just like my wife when I first met her.

in the long run these hoses will hopefully work out better than she did.

When installing these, you don't really want to use silicone spray to aid. Silicone spray has a tendency to soak in to the rubber, and cause it to be very slick. Under boost, this would be a bad thing...

To each there own.

i disagree john, i think they suck ass. when styling was still reputable i got my hoses from them and it DID not take any strength to put them on. i ordered fcp silicone hoses for the v70t5m project but opted to return them and get a FMIC set up $260with BOV and cbv block off vs $115 oem replacement hoses and no bov :) i opted for bov and fmic.

I've had no issues with them, and i had the first run of them when they had the defective TB hose. That was by far the worst PITA to get on, but that was defective so it explained why :P

Regardless, they are definitely a tight fit. Yes, they aren't as thick as Stylin (i have their radiator hoses and they are just wow thick) but they are plenty thick and once you get them on, you'll be fine. Never had one blow off or issue, just the install might make you sweat more then you want. Less worry with them blowing off in the future?

Silicone spray only keeps the silicone hose slick for a short amount of time. I found that if I didn't get them on quick enough after spraying that they became sticky.

As previoulsy stated, the hoses are a good value but trying to put the long one on by yourself is ridiculously hard. I know the neighbors were blushing at all the "mother_uckers" I screamed will trying to get that hose on by myself.

Gary

PS- Are you sure it was FCP? I just looked and they have no silicone on ebay.

I like my set, but like everyone said they are tight. I used a bat, heat (torch) , and grease to get mine on, I got the black ones so it looks oem. Just to add there was a lot of F bombs dropped during this install. but worth it for me.
