Last summer I was speaking with Rob about purchasing some suspension stuff. The prices were excellent which is why I was considering him. We talked through text message and when he had a shipped price, I asked that he create an invoice to send to me before we advance any further in the transaction. After I asked for the invoice, I didn't hear back from him for a week. And then out of nowhere, he sends me this invoice:



Not joking. It was a word document. He said he worked for Northside Imports, I was expecting a legit invoice with a purchase number, etc. I was still a little iffy, then I asked for paypal information, he asked me to send payment to his girlfriends paypal account as a gift. I asked why he didn't have a paypal and he said his business paypal was in the process of being verified. I then told him I don't feel comfortable with this and I'm going elsewhere.


Now last week I PM'd menace because he had the tail lights, he only had pics of the center and one outer, I asked for a pic of the other outer and a few days go by and he keeps telling me "I'll get them tomorrow along with a shipped quote". Same excuse each day. He then left me his phone number in a PM, and it looked familiar, so I checked the number I had saved in my phone from Northside Imports, and it's the same number.

I recommend not buying from him.

That was my last exchange with him a few months ago. Does it look like he gets the nod?

I had recent transaction with him and he never shipped item, his lastest vs user name was menace. He kept stating I shipped it but could never provide tracking info. Had I known it was coralt5m from the start I never would have done business with him because I thought he was permabanned. I appreciate a fellow vs member who discovered that menance was really Rob and alerting me. When i texted rob that I would please like a refund because I know of his past with stringing people along, he immeduately responded back that he has never screwed anyone. Then he stated that chuck buys all his parts from him as well as Fcpgroton who buy 80 to 90 percent of their parts directly through him which I knew was a lie and that he does over 5000 in sales a month on vs. I dont know why it is so hard in this day in age when you have someone elses money to ship the part out asap. I understand their are instances when people have emergencies come up but if you are going to sell online be ready to ship in a timely manner and dont say you shipped something when you really did not. He really must either not have the parts he is selling or be to lazy to make it to the post office which is open 24hrs with the automated postal centers they have were you weigh and ship yourself.

I have heard him say this before. Has anyone been able to confirm this? I am almost tempted to email Scott and ask if it is true and to let them know that he is name dropping them as one of his clients, and it's that's the case, he's made a very bad reputation for himself on the site.

FCP knows about this thread. They already replied to me.

We buy all of our genuine parts from the dealer and all of our OEM parts directly from the manufacturer in most cases, or IMC or Worldpac to fill in.
We purchase a very very small amount (less than 5%) from Northside Imports

I've never done business with the guy, but he has proven time and again within the VS community that he is not to be trusted. I also recently saw something he posted on FB that pissed me off.

He posted in the Volvospeed facebook group that he was looking for a tuned ECU. I mentioned that he could get a tune specifically for the car in question from ARD for a very reasonable price. He responded that he didn't give a damn if the tune was right for the car, he just needed ANY tune to throw into it because he told the person who already bought the car from him that it came with a tune.

Purposefully putting the wrong tune in a customer's car is unbelievably bad business IMO. This just shows he doesn't give two shits about his customers.

He doesnt care about anybody but himself as soon as he knew he was blacklisted from volvospeed the text came into my phone with every cuss word in the book . He wont answer his phone he will only text which shows you what type of person he is and I am tired of all the b.s. about how much business he does trying to name drop, when he still doesnt even have a fully functional site. His name should be rob king of the B.S. if he was so big time he wouldnt be parting out a 96 850, you dont see ipd parting out 96 850's.

First off the only reason he is parting out a 96 850 is because he needed the motor for one of his cars and he bought the car from a friend who had taken care of it. I just bought the trans kit from him every part there in really good shape and in marked bags for easy assembly. Rob seems to be a very up right kinda guy i didnt have an issue with him so far im waiting on my axles so we will see how that goes. I think overall my experience has been good, that being said i did drive to get the parts which was a lot easier than shipping b.s.

I guess if maybe you pay cash and pick up the parts, then it's different, but hearing his horror stories on PayPal, doing business online is something I would not recommend doing. I'm glad I never went through with either of the purchases I almost had with him.

Quick update he finally ended up refunding my money between 2 different paypal accounts instead of one. I asked rob why he didnt refund my money through the refund link in orignal payment, no answer, well an hour later I get a call from paypal that my account has been frozen. So the way he refunded me looked like I sold him two items.The dishonest piece of trash then opens a case against me stating I never shipped his items. I had to spend all yesterday with paypal straightening this out and along the way found out that his account has been frozen on multiple occassions. In his last few texts to me he stated fcpgroton is lieing as they do 90 percent of their business through us so if I was Fcpgroton and do any business with them I would stop because I would not be associated with a company that conducts business in this sort of manner. The best text was whenever he contacted me and wanted to play the victim like everybody was ganging up on him and included quotes such as I only ever screwed one person, this text came after his cuss filled others so either he is bipolar or trying to sell some b.s. im not buying.

I'm glad you decided to post that. I don't understand him. I wonder who FCP conducts their business through with that company? Either way, that is some of the worst business ethics I have ever seen. What a shame.

I'm very glad you posted this, and its just amazing.
The only thing I'll point out is, that if we all believe he is a giant liar, what says he has anything to do with Northside Imports? Maybe he's dragging their name through the mud as well, and they are equally as confused? I have no idea, I don't know any of the businesses involved.

I believe northside imports is a front company or he is using their name as you mentioned and if it truly exists as a legitmate company, I believe he is not apart of them or use to be apart of them but was a lowly employee or maybe he is doing business behind their back because you would not have a cell phone as your primary number, legitmate businesses have a landline, also if you look at gilber post you will see that he doesnt even have legitmate invoices. Northiside imports name is used to gain your trust because think about it would a person be more willing to do business with a guy named rob blair or a company. A company name gives a buyer a sense that it is established which in turn can be a false sense, never did he once mention the name northside imports in any of our discussions.

A few years ago when he was selling the 2 piece rotor set it took well over a month to get them shipped out. He would not respond to anything I sent him. Then i used http://calleridfaker.com/ to change my number to pretty much the same as his but changed the last digit. REALLY surprised him when i got him on the phone, the rotors were sent out very soon after that.

Remember everyone if you dont get the items in 40 days just file a claim, Its not worth the headache.

So if rob doesn't have a functional website/he doesn't have money in his PayPal accounts/and he has issues with everything he sells to people, how he hell does he keep up with the demand (only if it's %5) to supply to FCP without dropping the ball? And what the hell is FCP buying from him that you can't buy from Volvo, worldpac, etc? And where the hell is rob buying the parts that he's supplying FCP with?

If its only 5% of parts and you knew your supplier was pulling this shitt, I would be finding a new parts source real quick.
