Replacing The In-Tank Pump. Suck. Can't Get It Back In

Any ideas? Approach angles, etc. Its a 92 940 Turbo wagon, BTW.

The replacement pump required I cut the electrical ends off of the old one and put new ring terminals on. I got all of that taken care of, wormed the pump back into the tank, and I cannot, for the life of me get the old one to sit back in.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
