the S60R manifold is for the exhaust side and is a direct fit and improves flow.
You can use both at the same time.

This will improve flow but you will notice better tip in throttle response and some results people have enjoyed and others have not. Some say it is TOO touchy where as others enjoy it... It really comes down to trying it out and seeing if you dig it.
Between the NA intake manifold and the S60R exhaust manifold I would lean toward the S60R exhaust manifold. Better flow for the turbo makes its life easier and maybe keeps the temperature down. The turbo is going to pull as much air as it can but it can only pull as much as it can push out so even if you were to do both I would do exhaust work before intake work so that again it makes the turbo work easier... faster exhaust gases can get out the faster it can pull fresh air in.

Is the runner length, runner area or plenum volume any different between the NA and turbo intakes, or is it just the throttle diameter change?
No difference on mine except tb and less vac ports.

So the actual performance will be identical, with the exception of an increased sensitivity to throttle pedal position at small throttle openings. No difference on mine except tb and less vac ports.

If you really want to see an improvement, you need a shorter runner log intake, of which there are no bolt-on solutions. The stock manifold is designed for low end, it runs out of steam pretty low in the RPM band, but then again, so does the stock turbo. The later intake design used on 99- turbos is a vast improvement in terms of breathing & flow, but there is no ready way to fit it, and the TB port is in the wrong place.

think ill pick up an na tb, home bore the stock intake to fit it and add sconemans intake plumbing, and locate an s60 r exhaust manifold. Looking at fmic parts as well. should compliment my ipd ecu and full exhaust pretty nicely!

And I'd beg to differ with ozzi...on many cars flowing more air than stock, a larger tb can net a few hp on a dyno. I have no reason to automatically assume it makes a TON of power, but at the same time, I'm not so sure it does absolutely nothing either on an 850.
The only reason to swap manifolds is to save you the job of grinding...there's no benefit to the NA mani except it fits the larger tb without modification.
