What! You have rain in the Pacific Northwest? You are S-ing me! :P If your wiper was sitting like the Saffrons I can see why you got rid of it... ;)

Its a little known fact about the Pnw. And yes, my rear wiper looked just like the saffs, it was there and ugly. :P

maybe its just me, but I don't think it looks at well with the spoiler on. I like everyones who has the wagon with no spoiler and the delete done, but once the spoiler is on... I don't know.

I still have this sitting on my tool box (yeah, I know I started this thread lol)

I can't figure out how to get the back panel off the trunk without completely breaking every tab. :(

It's a little tricky, but what you have to try and do is carefully pull the panel downwards from the trunk hatch to get the tabs on the bottom of the panel out first. The panel itself is flexible so what you should try and do is carefully pull off the bottom panel at where each of the tabs are located.

Then once those are out, you can carefully pull the top part of the panel right off from the trunk. I can't guarantee that all of the tabs will break but you should be able to save some/most of them.

Thanks! I'm going to try to get this done this weekend for sure. Do you guys know if there are any clips / bolts holding the plastic around the inside handle of the hatch? It seems like something's holding it there.

This is on my list of things to do. This http://www.fcpgroton.../category_id/42 will help if (when) you break the clips.

I can't remember for sure but I think the trim around the handle just pops off and the plastic behind the handle is attached to the door. Mine was broken and always fell out anyways. The new xc70 panel I have now doesn't even have a cutout for the handle.

Bottom comes out first with a bone tool then the tabs at the top will come apart at the top.

As for the tailgate panel clips, just replace them and move them. They get brittle with the heat, you're better off just replacing all of them regardless of how they look.

I never deleted the rear wiper, I really need it in blizzards, there gets so much accumulation of snow on the back glass, I can't see anything!

I did delete the rear hatch panel though, even after the IPD panel kit it was still just a rattle machine. Also weight reduction.

Same with the AWD... if you don't actually own one, or never have, or plan to do so, then shut your pie hole.

Mine has had a hole there since I deleted the rear wiper. lol. One of these days I'll plug it, but the car isn't quite air tight anyway since I gutted the dash...there's a couple holes in the firewall. :)

But the car is officially 29xx lbs now! :)

Any differences in interior noise and/or heat retention without this panel in the winter? I have the IPD fix kit as well and has steadily been giving out
