Unfortunately not plug and play. That's a newer P2 amp right?

If you don't mind waiting a couple weeks, I have a 4x50 watt amp, wiring harness, and SC901 from my V70 R that I will be listing for sale. They're currently at home in RI and I'm at school in NY, but I can grab them next time I'm home.

Would an OEM amp play nicely with an aftermarket head unit that's also rated for 4x50?

Using an OEM amp with a new HU involves a preamp level RCA to DIN adapter cable.
The amp in the aftermartket HU would not be used, so it's power is irrelevant.

Or, you could bypass the OEM amp altogether and port right into the car speakers
using the new HU's onboard amp with a basic wiring adapter kit. Just unplug the
OEM amp bypass cable and it's all plug and play - and easily reversible for resale.

what's the benefit of getting an oem amp? why not just get an aftermarket one with more power?

Biggest benefit to me is the plug and play aspect.

I've got a proper harness adapter and an aftermarket HU installed... I was just wondering if there was a way to use both essentially, I wasn't sure if the OEM one uses a line level input or a speaker input from the factory HU, never dealt with one.

You're not describing your request very well.
Please clarify what you have hooked up now,
what you want to do and what parts you have available.

Hooked up now: Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD with adapter from it to the factory harness.

What I want to do: Know if it's possible to use the OEM amp with that HU.

No other parts on hand right now.

The OEM amp and the Pioneer's amp are
in pretty much the same power ballpark.
I don't think you'd really notice a difference.

If you really want an upgrade with some impact, Add a Sub.
The sub amp and the sub won't be plug and play, and yeah,
it'll take some work - but you'll sure know it's there! :)

I've had subs in previous vehicles, with the same HU, I know what's involved there. And I'm aware that the HU and the oem amp are the same power range... which is why I was hoping they'd be able to run in parallel, just like you can bridge aftermarket amps. But I might just be better off running a real 4 channel, or adding subs. Was thinking about pulling the 8" rear decks and getting subs for that spot.
