Hi I am new to volvo and I am looking for a rear wheel drive manual transmission that works with the s70 t5 motor ( B5234T3 ). any idea if the 740 modle has a manual or 240 would work? im running a stock motor and turbo and want the feel of a clutch but hate FWD ... any seggestions?

I have also read that the s70 can be maited to the t5 trans out of the ford mustang ... with an adapter plate what is the best route to go if I wanted to put a B5234T3 into a 240? two door ...

Ask over on turbobricks.com, they know the RWD scene quite a bit better then us. I do know what you are talking about is possible though.

depends on what rwd volvo you're attempting to do it in. there are a few guys that are using t6 from the s80's in the 960's as they use the same mounts.

as far as the 250 and 740 go with the t5 motor you'd need custom mounts. as for the t5 mustang trans you'll need an adapter plate, throw out bearing and i forgot the last thing.

Users "Karl Buchka" and "Captain Bondo" on here have done whiteblock swaps into RWD Volvos. Karl and his brother swapped at T5 into a 242, and Captain Bondo had a T6 in his 245

"Homer" is in the process of swapping a T5 into his 244.

m90 can work but are extremely expensive, counting in shipping and the actual cost of parts. not to mention when something goes wrong.

I only mentioned it because it sits behind a RWD whiteblock motor. So for "stock" options, it's the only one, unless you want the weak crap (>250hp) M46 or M47

Not to mention Robbie is putting a Whiteblock into an E30.

There's also a member on here in the middle of a RWD swap on an 850. He's using a BMW transmission and a E39 rear end I believe

2 people on turbo bricks are about to finish t5 swaps. one is into a 700 series the other into a 240. Have to modify the pan for the 240 not sure on the 700 series.

true or false this trans can work? if so what is different that is needed?
and Do I need to custom fab up motor mounts from my sub-frame to the motor?
B5234T3 is that a red or white block still not shure on that, and Im tryin to stuff that motor with a manule trans into an e30 BMW ....

That's a whiteblock. B = bensin (gasoline) 5 (cylinders) 23(2.3L) 4(valves/cylinder)
