anyone running HID's in there fogd from SharpHID?? Using the 35w or 55w???? Also, I'm not sure how to pick the right color????

4300K or nothing higher than 5000K. Try to get H3C bulbs, the topic has been discussed ad nauseum on the forum.

go with 3000k or 4300k. 3K is yellow, and will help in rain or snow. 4300k is white, and will be best in clear conditions

I run 8000k's in my heads and fogs and get compliments on them all the time.. Maybe not as much light outputs as the 5000k's but still significantly brighter than the halogens

It depends on what colour look you're going for. Yellow, white or blue?

Yellow is 3k
White is 5k
White with a hint of blue hue is 6k
Blue is 8k

I personally have 35w 6k in the fogs. Don't go with 55w in the fogs as it will be too bright and potentially blinding to oncoming traffic.
As far as the color, i would suggest 5k or 6k at the most. Anything over 6k and you've crossed into a rice field, IMO.

Thnaks guys, Think I'm gonna start out with 35 w 500k for the fogs and see how they work. Then maybe upgrade me e-codes to include hid's down the road! Need to order replacement foglights first, my glass lenses are all fugged up!!

You could try some new aftermarket fogs. I'm considering doing it, if only to swap the glass lens (the projector and mounting assembly can be separated).

They have aftermarket copies all over the place. Should be pretty decent.

Yeah I bet all of the "compliments" you've recieved on your 8000k's came from kids who drive cars like:




I would never go anything over 6000K, because that's a bright white with a SLIGHT hint of blue. 4300 or 5K is where it's at if you're looking for better visibility.

I need to redo the bulbs and get 4300's or 5000's.
I fully admit i went total ricer when i did the 8k's.
Volvo deserves better lol
