Hi all! I'm more active over at SS than here but I thought I would share some of my work on making some cool badges. I recently acquired a desktop CNC machine so I've been experimenting with things. The 1st version is obviously a twist on the 850R badge. Second, think Swedish . Also doing some other things for the P2 platform. Tell me what you think?

Suggestion- Round the corners just a tad so a polishing rag wont snag and rip them off.

Those badges are pretty good, I like the simple black and white, will you ink up one section in red like the original?

They (VS) wax their cars? I thought the lastest craze was to wrap them in viynl so the paint is flat. At least thats what won the IPD show.

The bottom of the 4 (horizontal line) isn't in line with the bottom of the 85, but the back "leg" ( i dunno what to call it, the vertical part.) is in line.

That's probably why they didn't go with the old school numbering system. Let's rename the model lineup 'cause the badges don't line up!

The "4" is the only number out of the few that is unique on it's own, and this was by design by Volvo or the marketing team they hired.

I think it'd be cool if you made a CNC'd Volvospeed logo... I think I'd totally rock that on mine!

Very true but the 8 and 5 have the line in the middle vertically whereas the S40 has more kerning between the S and the 4, lessening the effect. I would love to get my hands on the modern badge font, it's such a sleek look. Interestingly, a lot of the modern volvo buses and trucks here have the same font...
