This is total bullshit:

Quote

I agree with you, there is free speech with everything. But free speech is relative and still within restraints of where it's been said. Here on SS, the topics are mostly open except for; vendors, manufacturers and political/ethical views. Simply because those are the things that fuel VMG and this business; Volvo as the car manufacturer and main sponsor and reason why we're here, Vendors as they pay for advertising fee that pay for the expenses of this forum(and it's in their best interest to nurture them), and political/ethical views(obviously within the legal limits of the law) .

So on Swedespeed you can't bad mouth a vendor or Volvo if they're doing a piss poor job. Talk about a forum being bought and paid for and in the pocket of its vendors.

We discover that Alfred actually is coherent (rather than the China thread where he went off half cocked at Chuck on BBs quality) but a total patsy for Henry and clearly out of his depth when it comes to being an effective forum moderator.

Agreed, I can see if it is/was an isolated incident but it's not, and most of these guys are having issues after months not days/weeks. The fact that you can delete posts and say that you have an un-biased position on the issue (when it appears that they are buddy buddy with each other) is pretty humorous and BS.

If the only argument is that these poor guys should be emailing/calling Henry, even though they've spent 2-3 months getting unanswered emails and no return phone calls, or their posts will get deleted.....man I'm glad sh*t like that isn't tolerated here

SS really does a poor job of selecting moderators.

It seems that if you have a job with VCNA or have one of the more modified cars on the site, they let you be a moderator. Moderator status over there appears to be only loosely correlated with length of membership, how helpful you are or supportive of the site, or other criteria which you may expect would be associated with the position.

I think Alfred responded in absolutely the wrong way. I am skeptical that he is really able to separate his friendship with Henry from his role as moderator of the forum. Deleting posts bashing Henry's known customer service issues certainly doesn't look good - what other posts is he deleting? I'd guess almost none To his credit many of the posts that were deleted probably were irrelevant. I don't fault him for feeling the way he does - if one of my close friends was accused of screwing people I'd also rush to their defense - but outwardly it does not look good nor does it make it seem that moderators are unbiased when the moderator says "we don't say bad things about our vendors" and selectively deletes posts critical of his buddy's business.

What cracks me up is that Henry posts in one of those threads with a simple, "I've replied to all of the emails but I'm really busy." Clearly CFWerks is not his full time gig. Cause if it is, he's going to be bankrupt in no time.

How does anyone in this day and age not understand that reputation matters for a business and failing to contact customers in a timely manner is as good as writing your own tombstone?

Thanks Na-Game, you summed it up nicely for me. I'm not going to deny the fact that i'm inexperienced as a moderator and my way of handling the situation turned bad. I also made mistakes for removing posts whether they were irrelevant or not, as this leads to anger and outrage. People don't wake up being excellent at everything overnight, it takes failures and challenges.

Simply put, and i've said this before. Perhaps I am tainted by the simple friendship between Henry and I, we've met through the forums and through his business as a customer. CFWerks was at one point more reputable with many great products and had better customer service, and perhaps all this is the bias. Not because he's my friend but at one point contributed to the small Volvo community that we have here. However, at the end of the day, I do not know his personal dealings with his customers and I also respect others opinion about Henry and his business.

I'd like to see CFwerks back to what they once were, but that's in the hands of the owner and not me.
