What are you smoking?! He didnt say if it was a 5spd or not.EXTREMELY BAD. DO NOT BUY 01 V70 T5!!!!!!!!!!
To the OP.
S60/V70/XC:
01-02 are great vehicles if they are the 5spd standard.
03+ have no tranny issues and are just as bullet proof as the older series.
What it comes down to is never buy an 01-02 automatic unless it has recent documentation or a VOLVO only replaced tranny. New from the dealer only. Or if you plan on doing a 5spd swap.
Also ETMs do fail but that's a one time expense and a 15min job to replace.

In general very easy job. Fine 30-45mins.. Calm down there killer...15 minutes eh?
