90 240 with 207K miles.
I have hard steering in the morning. Changed/flushed with Dex ATF by raising the front and turning the wheel a few times to let the fluid come out. The steering is fine when the car is warmed up, tight in 1st and 2nd gears when the car is first started.
Now it seems as if it's leaking on the RH side where the hard line hooks up into the steering rack?
Does it mean my rask is about to go out? What can I do about it?

probably a misdiagnosis: looks like my water pump is leaking.

I hope you found your problem.
If is is the hard line, my '90 744 had a double crimp on the hard line tube and had a little rubber donut for a gasket.
If you take it apart, BE VERY CAREFUL - THE THREADS ON THE FITTING ARE SUPER FINE !!! The fitting is hard, the rack is soft - if you strip it, you will need a new rack!
