I remember this being something that used to come up from time to time. The 850 will shake / vibrate a bit from 50 - 60mph on smooth highway. Everything is fine below 50mph and above 60mph. I'm trying to remember what it was that caused this, but I can't find it because there are so many threads with similar descriptions of other problems. If my memory serves me correctly, it's usually the balance, tie rods, or control arms. If anyone can confirm or deny it would be much appreciated!

Thanks, guys!

Problem is they were just balanced, but I'm sure dealer will recheck balance before going to other things.

Ive had this problem plaguing me. I can't tell you how many times i have gone to the shop and they tell me everything is balanced. Not just one, but 3 different shops.

Have replaced everything but the rack, but thats next. Hopefully it will fix it. My fix is to go 70 everywhere. ;)

What dealer are you going to? Englewood volvo?
thats where i bought my 850... I picked up the car told him the ride height seemed high, he said the shocks just need to settle.. Took it around the block and the ride was stiff and not at all like the one I test drove... Went right back and told them something wasnt right.. they pulled it into service and put it in the air... the spring spacers were still in it, they never took them out during the PDI..

From then on I took the 15 min drive to Ramsey volvo instead.

Know it was kind of a rant but, id get them checked at a good year or firestone.

It could be an axle out of balance also... maybe? possibly??

Does this happen when you are accelerating or while coasting as well?

If all your suspension components check out, I'd also check: wheel hub and axles.

I had this problem too. It was my tires. Rotate front to back and see if it goes away. My 850 seems to be real sensitive to worn tires and the vibration always comes back when it is time for new tires.
