So I acquired an 2004 s60R gauge cluster today for my 2004 s60 2.5t and took the gauge faces and needles off both and swapped the R needles and faces over to my s60 cluster, there were no issues until I started calibrating.

At first I calibrated and everything was going fine. However I came back to my car about 20 min after calibrating and unlocked my car and then as I opened the door the needles fell out of calibration?? I reset them and then same thing came back 20-30 min later unlocked my car open my drivers side door and same thing happens?

Has this happened to anyone? If so do you have any suggestions? Im tempted to put at needle stop like the 01-03 had and just make it out a thin gauge metal or plastic and glue it in unless anyone can help me on how to fix this?

Thanks!

How have you been calibrating these? i did an 05 S80 Executive edition cluster (a black version of the R cluster) in my car. For calibration i drive with the front of the cluster off the car.

Use a gps to calculate speedo
top the car off for gas, and put the needle to full
once engine is warmed up set needle to center
and RPMS are supposed to idle around 675, if i recall correctly.

Are all of the needles falling off calibration?

did you have to modify the LED lighting in your car to support the updated cluster?

Ended up figuring it out just kept calibrating until I got it all right except the temp gauge is a hair off middle but im not that worried about it.

tfivem- I just switched over the gauge faces and needles and used my original cluster to obtain the original miles and functionality. I then hardwired the overhead led's so they're on when I start the car up.

I did the same thing to mine awhile back (like 6 months ago I think) and also hardwired in the overhead LEDs to that light socket that is closest to the overhead wires but they are not even close as bright as yours or any R even with the brightness turned all the way up. I swapped out all of the cluster wedge Halogens with the biggest LEDs that would fit... these guys http://www.superbrig...cs/74-xHP3.html but surely they dont take more power than the original halogens making the overhead LEDs so dim?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated ^_^

Why didn't you just swap the entire cluster over and then take it to a dealer for a DIM reload? No information is stored in the DIM, it all would have been transferred from the CEM to the new DIM.

Distance really. Dealer is a decent distance away so that way ended up being the simpler way to get it done. Plus it gave me an excuse to Di Noc the plastic surrounding the gauges :D I just want more light on them like its supposed to be
