I just bought a 98 v70 awd had a bunch of codes when i bought it didnt pay nothin for it. since i got it i have done both half shafts, plugs and wires, air filter, oil change, struts, put on all funky, little stuff so far (waiting on rotors and pads) . ok problems now to be adressed abs and tracs lights on and when i stop most of the time but not all the time i get a loud clunk from under the car towards the rear.
So the question is could the noise be abs related or couldt it be drive shaft related? and how can i check the fluid level in the rear? Or could it be rear half shaft related do they even sale those.

Sounds like it's either one of two things.

You didn't torque down the axles correctly, or something is going on with the abs system. It could be the module or you possibly screwed up some wiring since you stated you did things "funky".

If the shocks look "wavy" someone may have replaced them and they might not have seated. I have seen it a few times before where the jump around the spring seat when braking. Also, if the previous owner did brake pads and they did not sit right they could also be slidding around under the caliper causing a clunk. Abs module is not really going to cause a clunk.. nor is the module itself.

I pulled both struts out before doing half shafts that noise was a hard pop when i turnd left. Im going to do the pads and rotors all around and bleed system anyways , look like a metal soup bowl. just remembered there was almost no fluid in brake reservoir.like i said paid nothing for it just a project car somthing to tinker with. looks like its going to sit another week.

If you are hearing a bang on a hard left I would look at axles, especially seeing as you touched them recently.
