Most ghetto battery "mount" I've seen in awhile... you know they make plenty of batteries that'll fit and allow you to clamp them down into the oem mount, including multiple common sizes... right?
finally something i can +1 you on
Personally im not a fan of JL....their subs sound great but are not really quality materials....they blow too easily and the foam disinegrates... heres an example...
jl audio 12w3v3
jl audio 6w3v3
Now heres a real sub
memphis mojo 12
To each their own though....
"meant to add this"
to each thier own though....
andy beat me to it, but you comparing the wrong ends of the spectrum.
To be fair, if you're going to compare 2 subs from different manufacturers, at least compare ones with similar specs.
Which in this case would be a JL W7, not a W3 as pictured above.

Looks a bit more substantial than a W3
thats more like it
ok...I will...I feel the same about the w7...The foam is a joke and the magnet isnt nearly as big...the w7 is way over rated and over priced for what it is...
compare the ohm ratings, magnet size, voice coil, xmas, and power handling, and the price

This is why i do what i do. Just because your magnet is bigger, just because your MSRP is lower, just becasue your specs are better, DOES NOT MEAN YOUR WOOFER IS BETTER.
Memphis has a lower MSRP for their stuff. It is a great product for retailers. lower MSRP lower cost = high profit margins. Thats why when you walk into a store they always trying to push Memphis on you and everything else sucks.
Like diamond audio when they were around $65 12" woofer MSRP for $299, they sold it street price at $200 and you thought you got a deal.
Specs are drawn up by the manufacturers. Thats their way of marketing the product, there is no independant lab saying the specs are true or false. Example sony explode 1200watt woofers and 1500watt amps.
Bigger magnets are needed for subs that are less efficient
Price is primarily dictated by the usage of AMERICAN LABOR, not cheap foreign labor.
JL on the other hand was and still is the reference standard. So everything is like JL, everyone needs to be bigger, longer , fatter, wider whatever.
Your 15" woofer needs 3.25ft of space vs 13.5 needs 2.3ft
Your 15" woofer has nothing special about except it is imported from overseas.
JL 13w7 is MADE IN USA
JL actually owns patents on their subwoofer designs and technology.
JL is what it is, reference standard.
I have gotten memphis stuff in before, they come in cheap cardboard boxes and cheap plastic wrap that you would expect from overseas manufacturing. JL 13.5" W7 subwoofers come double boxed with a net weight of 77lbs.
If i were you, I would rave about my memphis subs too if i spent hard earned money on it. My JL's i did in that car were 10" W3's x 4 pieces in a 2ft sealed box. Eventually i went up to 3 12w6's in the same sealed shared space box.
I live and breath 12volt all day long, I see ALOT of equipment come across my counter, Memphis is certainly not one of the worst, but they not one of the best. They certainly will be the ones for cheap boom if that is what you are looking for Mephis up your alley.
In the next 15 years when your taste in music changes and gets more refined and you want quality vs quanity you will know what i am talking about.
"Its not how loud you can play, Its how well you can play loud!" ---Me
My "system" must be crap since it is all JL in my convertible.
Three JL 12W6v2
Two Sets JL ZR 6.5" Components
One Set JL ZR tweeters
One JL 1000/1v2
One JL HD600.4
One 210AMP Hi Current Alternator
One Eclipse AVN6600DVD, swapping out to a Kenwood Excelon DNX9990HD...thats probably over rated too right like JL?
One Stinger SPP1200 front battery
One Stinger Sp2150 Stereo Battery
One Stinger 150amp Hi Current Relay
Oh yeah did i mention i also have
Six head Hi powered Whelen strobe system
Whelen PA System aka siren
Whelen Headlamp wigwags
Hadley On board Airhorn system
OEM XC90 headrest monitors too

All stuffed into a convertible.
i am not going to get into a debate about who is better. My opinion is going to be biased because i am a business man. I support products that support their retailers. Clean distribution, protected line, limited internet, and decent employee discounts!
