Thats what I did. Just bought the downpipe, welded v-band brackets and built from there.

So the s60 downpipe does indeed fit??

I ordered my system from Sparkteck on Apr 12, they said two to three week wait? We will see and I will keep every one posted! ERacing zone sells theirs for 329 and the other for 340? Sparkteck for 350...

Good luck. They suck. My kit shipped with no clamps. They said they would ship me some, a month goes by, no clamps. They say buy some we will reimburse you, I buy some, never heard back from them.

Don't know that I would equate OBX with quality...

value maybe would be more apropo.

Yeah defintetely value. Everytime we get an OBX in we always end up having to customize the hangers or something. Nothing to major though.

I bought obx from spraktec, and it came with clamps that have been working just fine for over 6 months. took about 5 days to get here, box was in shreds and the exhaust was sticking through... I can't blame them though, it is very oddly proportioned.

Anyway, i did have to bend the rods that are used to hang the exhaust from the car. Specifically, one of the ones closest to the rear bumper. Wasn't a big deal, didn't have very much exhaust rattle (i completely threw away that almost comical cover-plate-thing that covered like 1/16 of the exhaust. Some people report problems if you keep it)

However, the tip sticks out too far (as always) and it is pressed against the right (looking from the back, towards the front) of the hole in the bumper for the exhaust.
Some zipties at the mounting location right before the rear wheels/strut brace and that was solved. Unfortunately, they came off when i messed with it, and i haven't put them back.

For purchasing, I would suggest the retailer closest to you (sparkec's warehouse is like 50 miles from me). Quality won't change, and it will get to you faster, which means less potential damage. Other then that, worth it for $450 shipped (guesstimate, hell if i remember) Sell the extra DP and its like a $250 exhaust.

Can you say cheap?

Evidently not as well as retailers can say "out of stock".

Hi guys,

Just brought one for my stock (Not for long  ) C70 - 98 manual. The price for the kit is amazing value considering you also get two downpipes! In Australia volvo tunning is extremely scarce and hence we have to pay a premium. For example BSR downpipe alone is $1,170 AUD http://www.bsrtuning...oducts/4108504/

What a rip!! I had to pay $285 for shipping to Sydney Australia but as you can see its much better value to get this shipped half way around the world then to buy it locally. I was considered buying a the raw exhaust components and getting it custom built but the economics doesn't add up.

I want to thank the contributing members on the performance front it has saved me heaps of time and money plus i am alot more informed on the mod scene.

I want to achieve around the 300 WHP target as a DD, on top of the OBX exhaust, i have purchased 850 N/A cams (95), 850 throttle body and 960 plate and Snabb throttle body hose, will install it once i get the ARD black tune and 19T wheel. Please tell me if my 300 WHP is realistic with these mods? Sorry hi jack thread.

Oh yeah my question was the OBX kit says its dyno proven but doesn't reveal the gain, any one know what WHP gains i can expect on bolt on? I'm guessing 10-15WHP...

It would be even better value if OBX made it optional to specify the download pipe that you need (straight or angled) rather than making the kit with X 2 DP, that way customer saves even more on the kit and additionally gets a better price on shipping especially in my case. Food for thought..

1998 C70 HPT M56: Mods: Stage 0, OBX turbo back exhaust, drop in K&N filter, ACDelco BCS, 13" Wilwood BBK 4 piston calipers, Philips 4200K HID, LED interior, Snabb short shift kit, FK Lowering Springs (30 - 40mm) ,960 plate,Snabb cold air intake pipe, N/A Throttle body plate, ARD E85, Bosch 650 cc Injectors,TD04 rebuild kit. 19T ARD high flow compressor wheel, IPD CBV, ARD lightweight pulley, Forged Style 8 psi wastegate.
Mods not yet installed:N/A cams, 850R Clutch

Add a FMIC and you probably can. The kit is catless, downpipe design is way less restrictive than stock. Just by visuals you can tell you get a power increase. The kit is cheap for us, some of us will get it for 400 shipped to our doors, so having two downpipes can help us make some money back. Too bad they don't have a retailer there or else you'd be paying the same.
