After a 4 year hiatus my Father is back to Volvo. In 1999 he bought an S70 GLT - 2001 was a S60 2.4T AWD and then 2005 was a 2.5T AWD - all of them fully jammed and he never had an issue with any of them. Funny part is his favorite was the 99 that had one of the best sounding systems Ive ever heard for stock.. well back then anyways!

He then bought a 2008 Saab Turbo X new. Although its a great lookin car with huge brakes , handles great, and a fantastic AWD system, its been a problem!

So heres his new S60 R- Design - Polstar tuned 325hp and 354trq- BLIS - Multimedia Pkg that has a 12 speaker 650watt stereo- Nav and backup camera ect, plus this car has the Conti Sport contact 3s as an option. It just arrived off the boat, and the windows will be getting a 35% tint before pickup.

Best numbers Ive see so far was 0-60 in 5.2 and 13.6 in the 1/4mile at 103mph tested by Motorweek, but they used the all season tires instead of the sticky summer CS3s tires which make a big difference around a track.

Should be good car for a older guy.

And the price to hp ratio is good, everything on it is pretty much standard and its starting at 43k......fully equipped STI is 42 grand so the price is definetly not bad for what it is...335ix and S4 are way more $$$$

43K he wishes. The car was 60K+ out the door. Canadian prices and 8K in options will do that unfortunately

Great to hear that your dad is back in a Volvo. Very nice performance numbers.

I personally don't dig the looks of the new S60.

What were some of the problems with the Saab?

The X has had all sorts of small issues all the time! Windows not working, leaks, O2 sensors- seat belt issues- ate tires- brakes were big bucks to replace also.

It's not Dynaudio...the S60s have Audyssey MultEQ now.

Sounds like the audio quality went down a notch when they ditched Dynaudio.

Ive spent enough time with my own custom built stereos over the years in different cars, plus all the different Volvos with dynaudio systems over the years, and I would have to say the difference between the Audyssey MultEQ Premium system vs the Dynaudio is slim if any. The biggest thing of all with the Audyssey MultEQ is proper adjustment. That Audio review they left everything flat with no adjustment. My fathers best pal has a 2010 S80 V8 so I'll try a sound off comparo back to back and see lol

That's a great looking back. I like the new wheel also.
I wanted an EVO but ended up with EVO chassis only

awe, no manuals. Sucks for the future modding scene. If I had 40k and a family Id rock it though.

Next year i think they are coming out with a special edition "T5-R" in cream yellow for the S60......I think it needs a LSD with a M66 box.....geartronic or whatever it is is cool but not as cool.
