As always there are a lot of mixed reviews about the Innovate products. In this case for the OT-2 some people love it and it works great, others say it doesn't work, others say it's crap and customer service is nonexistant.

Anyone here using the OT-2? I'm thinking it might be worth trying it out (buying from a place that has a good return policy) and I'll just return it if it doesn't work...

I already have the Zietronix ZT-2 but there's no way to feed OBD2 data through it without buying their gigantic dash mounted screen interface for an additional $600. I've asked them a bunch of times if they would consider adding an OBD2 interface cable to send that feed to a laptop but always met with a "this is it, too bad if you don't like it" response. (which really sucks)

Feedback anyone?

I just bought the OT-2 a few weeks ago. Best $180 I've spent in a while. I like it so much that I just ordered the Innovate AuxBox to go with it.

Being able to read and clear DTCs is nice, but what I really like is being able to see and log any parameter in the ECU. Then, with the click of a button I can send the logs to my email so I can instantly access them from my computer. Once I get the AuxBox and MTX-L set up, I'll be able to view and log the following from my iPhone:

boost
AFR
EGT
injector duty cycle
ignition timing
MAF
calculated load

I haven't had any connectivity problems with my C70, but when I use the OT-2 in my girlfriend's 2009 TSX it will occasionally lose signal from the ECU.

I could never get the OT2 working on my 99 c70. They said it was a firmware problem reading me7?

Is this for the '98? The logworks & OBDII (ISO-9141) parameters will be the same as my OT-1, if that is the case, you can only reliably log three channels of data via OBDII. The limiting factor is ISO-9141, not the device. The OT-2 came out shortly after I bought the OT-1, or I would have bought it for the WIFI convenience.

This is for the 850 with 4.4 conversion.

What I'd really like to do is find a way to merge the data from the ZT-2 ( wideband, TPS, RPM, EGT, IAT ) along with the Ignition timing, MAF, and load from the OBD-2 to one logging device (like my laptop)

That's what I have found also. If you attempt to log more than 3 parameters with the OT-2, things tend to slow down. Like Hussein said, that is NOT the OT-2's fault. It's because Volvo uses ISO-9141.

I use Innovate for all of my logging and it has been very reliable for me. I'm logging 9 parameters, but only 3 with the OT-2.

AFR... LC-1
Boost... AuxBox
RPM... AuxBox
IDC... AuxBox
EGT... AuxBox
IAT... AuxBox
Timing... OT-2
MAF... OT-2
Vehicle Speed... OT-2

I cut an OBDII harness and connector from a junk car, and wired it into the original harness. That way I can keep the OT-2 plugged in all the time, hidden behind the dash, and still have access to the originall OBDII connector.

If you look at the logs, you can see the channels that are logged with the OT-2. They don't flow as smoothly as the "real-time" data from the other sensors. Due to the ISO9141 being somewhat slow, the data looks a little "notchy", but still very usable....

How did you get the AuxBox to read both IAT and EGT? When I called Innovate they told me it could only read one temp. Mine is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, so I'll get to mess with it then :)

Input 1 - RPM
Input 2 - EGT
Input 3 - IDC
Input 4 - Boost
Input 5 - IAT

Input 5 is setup as an acceleration sensor by default. It can be changed to display sensor data (0-5v), but a custom table needs to be created to correctly display IAT's. It was a PITA to setup, but once setup, the data seems very accurate.

What type of sensor did you use? Do the instructions for the AuxBox outline how to do something like this? I might contact you once I get the AuxBox as it seems this would be worthwhile to do. I don't have much need for an accelerometer.

Let me know if you need help setting it up. It was a PITA and I've tried to suppress all memories of it, but I'm still haunted by them from time to time. :o

A lot of people use a GM IAT sensor, but I had a junk 2000 S40, so I used the sensor from it (PN 30865366). It screws into the top of the intercooler on the S40. I have all the data from that sensor, if you go that route. The Logworks 3 manual has all the info on setting it up.... http://www.innovatem...rks3_Manual.pdf Starts on page 34 (section 4.2). It really made my head hurt, but once setup it works like a champ.

Just got the AuxBox! I'll look through the info in the link you posted and let you know if I can't figure it out. Thanks for the help!

Good luck with the IAT scaling - that truly sucks when using the GM sensor - they don't publish a graph like Bosch, 'cos their level of consistancy blows chunks.... You'll have to measure the one you buy at at least three different temps and I think at least 40degrees apart, if I recall correctly. You also have to add a resistor after the 5v supply to the sensor, and enter that value into the scaling factor. When youre all done , it still won't read corre toy, and you'll have to fudge with the vtage scaling until it seems to be in the ball park.

Given all that, I'd get a Bosch sensor if I were doing it over.

So I ordered an LM-2. I think that will work better for what I need it for and I can use it in multiple cars, add serial devices as needed. It will record to SD card and I can hook it up to my laptop via usb connection also. The zeitronix datalogger is getting pulled out and will be up for sale.

LM-2 has AFR and one built in frequency input for RPM
four 0-5 volt inputs, initially will use: MAF, TPS
And I'll pick up Load and ignition timing from the OBD-2 feed.

that should be enough inputs for what I currently need I can add more later.

If you're logging MAF, you really don't need load, since load is an extrapolation of MAF & other signals. I'd draw MAF, timing & road speed via OBDII. Having road speed is handy as that's what indicated to Johann that something was off with mine, compared to rev's & known gear ratios.
