Has anyone used digital gauges? I have an 850 turbo and I am looking at getting a digital computer for the car. I have the torque app on my phone which is nice but I would like something that I can keep on my car at all times. I was looking at the scangauge II and the edge insight cts. Also, there have been forums with people using arduino boards to make gauges too. Any recommendations or experiences?

I use VEI Hi resolution digital boost gauge in the red. It has a lot of different options like how much boost you want it to read, 12,24,36,48,60psi. peak mode with adjustable peak hold time. The boost resolution is selectable, 1.0psi, 0.5psi or 0.1psi. And brightness for daytime and parking lights. And the best part is that it's a one piece design like a analog boost gauge, some other digital gauges are the gauge and a sender, this is all in one and very compact. They have a lower res version too and both are available in interanl and external sensor.

The only issue I've had in 3 years of using it is when my battery is getting low the voltage is not enough to fire up the gauge (or the gauge + connection isn't the best). But that is kinda a reminder I need to clean the battery termals or throw the charger on it, so it's like 2 gauges in one. ^_^

If I ever get a 3 gauge cluster I'll probably get the 2 in 1 gauges for EGT and A/F and for oil psi and voltage.

Here is some video of it at work on my car.

A/F digital, boost, and EGT mechanical.

I picked a pretty circuitous route and arguably cheated slightly, but I'm going to get there

My question: Is that the VEMS ECU or is that a gauge it comes with?

I have a Scangauge. Cord goes through the back and under the steering column, routed along the side of the center console and up under my gearshift where my OBDII is relocated. If I have to get to it, I just pop the E-brake cover off.

If that's your question, we can go ahead and end the thread now.

What I'm really asking is, is that supported only with the VEMS ecu?
