she said no way they would reg under anything but vcoa

i can assure you VS and TB wont do vcoa

i brought up a generic name like V@C and she didnt think it would fly

when we get closer ill bug ryan and phil about it

It sounded to me like Mike thought it was worth discussing with the right people at VCOA to see if something could be done. This isn't a VCOA meet so they might be willing to collaborate on some efforts but I would expect they will want to keep separate for their raffles and all that.

My grill was roaring all weekend...theirs was just easier when I was lazy.

Perhaps we should follow the Saab way and register as one club.... Volvo's of Carlisle. Maybe we can get a bigger tent that way

BIGGER tent? I'm just happy we had a damn tent. It would of been a fucking disaster other wise.

IF someone can step up to the plate and organized it could be great! We'd need to do the catered food (breakfast/lunch/dinner), drinks (getting kegs/ice so folks aren't shelling out his own $$)and not just alcohol water! seating/tables, music/entertainment, venders/sponsors, raffles/givaways and the huge tent to come close to Saab guys shindig, their site was VERY impressive this year . On par with a lot of the BMWCCA events I've been to.

After this years issue with the tent/banners, thanks again Mike for fixing that. I think we've gotta long way to go to get THAT organized. I think Volvospeed, Swedespeed, Turbobricks and VCOA really need to come together to make this a reality (if they can).

I'm the unofficial Vs caterer. Rent me a REAL grill, and like...$400 for food and I can easily feed 150+ people.Shit, this weekend I grilled: 164 burgers, 143 hot dogs, 60lbs of chicken, 10lbs of sausage, 3 dozen eggs, and 2lbs of porkroll. What did I come with? 20 burgers, 20 hot dogs, and my fine self. Everyone pitched in what they had and we fed the masses up at their campsite. I even fed the Saab kids for using their grill time to time.

We got kegs (Thanks Brick!) and what's wrong with byob? NOTHING! Just provide a spot to put it...much as I bring and empty iced cooler for meat. Raffles? That's on you, but I'd be damn good and selling tickets. "Two tickets? Really? for an extra $5 you get a legs length...and get to rip the tickets yourself....with your teeth."

I can prob get some of my girls in bikinis to pose with cars too. I brought mine this year, but no one asked hahahahaha

the women i spoke with was very nice and it was a very nice discussion,

the thing is branding. they want attention for vcoa. nothing wrong with that at all
we want attention for VS etc

they have a younger gen taking over and things will probably change some day

at the end of the day, who cares about saab? i want to relax, drink, talk to friends.

I could give an sh*t about beating the Saab guys in #s, this ain't my first time at this rodeo (it's my 16th) and in past years VCOA used to do a really nice set up with food and swag...

and nothing is stopping us. There is no reason to expect any club to pony up the time and money to organize a fairly public event. But voca's assistance would be greatly appreciated. (the politics could be multiple things, I just think they are a calmer crowd)

I'd be in for helping in organizing and planning. (my gf had a great time and it seems she'd like to have a Volvo by next year as well)

Like I said get some sponsor/vendors to give you some money for said gear and if there is some left over money get food and drinks... How much could 2 grills and a couple coolers cost? And they don't have to be new either. If you are going to cater for that many people you have to step it up a notch or 2 to make it work... Or make it easier on yourself and hire a caterer, let them worry about grilling and sit back and enjoy the show...

Mr Lim,you sir just scored BIG on rep points for that idea! I would love to help out in any way to make this happen.There is no way we can be as big as the SAAB guys but like Mike said all we need is food drinks and a good time under the tent.I think we can pull something very nice out of our asses before Carlisle 2013.
