I'm pulling an angled exhaust housing from a car that is getting parted. Got the vband clamp off and 3 of the 4 nuts to the engine, but I can't seem to reach that lower nut towards the driver's side? What's the trick or favorite tool here? I was trying a flexible ratcheting box wrench.
Worked on it for about 1/2 hour and decided to just give it a rest and attack it another day. I just don't seem to have any room back there to get a wrench on it and room to move. It's on a 99 AWD so technically wrong forum, but shouldn't be much different than any other. Mods can move if needed.

I wiggled a standard open-ended wrench in there and got it off and on. Took lots of patience and a few swears, but it's possible.

I think I have a stubby 13mm wrench. Maybe I'll give that a try. I think walking away from it for the day was probably for the best and I just need to go at it fresh another day. Thanks.

LOL. I wasn't going to point it out.
Well, if the rain let's up, I'll go after it again this weekend.

i went through this myself recently. that nut is facing the front of the car and the issue for me was leverage. by the time i contorted my arm to reach the ratchet and/or wrench i just could not turn it loose
i ended up using a gearwrench x-beam wrench which is the longest wrench i had by far
