Me and a buddy w/ a Z28 went up to a spot tonight and there were a bunch of people there. It's on this long stretch and people were racing. He raced a xxxx (not sure what year) Monte Carlo w/ some heavy mods and had a car and a half but had to cut it off b/c some car came the other way. Anyway, everyone there wanted to see me run but I had to be home by 1:30am. I followed my buddy out and we got to where our side of the highway branches into two lanes for us, and we took off from a 50mph roll. We were dead even until he hit the middle of 3rd gear, somewhere around 80mph, jumped a car on me, then pulled about a half car by the time we hit 100mph...we cut if off b/c we had a turn coming. Anyway, got beat but hey it's an LS1 Z28...I hung in there better than I thought I would. I'm putting a $200 deposit in Monday and I should have enough for my turbo swap. smile.gif 20psi will beat the Z28 from a 50 roll. smile.gif

Yeah I took a ride in one of my other friends' cars...'99 LS1 T/A, runs dead even w/ the Z28 but maybe gets a half car in the 1/4 b/c of better hook up. Anyway, when he hits 3rd, it just PULLS. Amazing top end power. But of course...we're talking a 2.3 liter vs. a 5.7. biggrin.gif

I dont know why you werent able to beat a Z28 only with exhaust... those cars fro what ive seen dont have top end... my friend with an S70 T5 5spd took one some time ago and we were going around 50 so he dropped it to 3rd... he actually coulda taken it to 2nd if he wanted to... but yea we def pulled away... and i heard the gurgle of his car i know he punched it...

but whatever the case may be... im sure your new turbo and 20 psi will leave many blink.gif

Yeah, you should be ok with 20psi on a 16t and stock rods. You might want to look into aditional cooling cuz that thing's going to get hot!

smile.gif I know a guy that lives close and will do a strong aftermarket HG w/ copper sealing for about $300. So if I blow it...no big deal. smile.gif

What year was it? I think in '97 they went to the LS1 from the LT1, and the LS1 has a lot more top end power. If memory serves the Corvette took the LS1 in '96, and a year later they begin putting that in the T/As and Camaros.

F bodies took the LS1 in 98, dont forget the LT4 too, which is what the corvette had until 97 when it intro'd the LS1. LS1's are mean, really easy to get power out of, i think id prefer to build one over an LS6(Z06) you just cant beat that torque curve.

20 psi from a 16T?. You better get a 19t to do that. My 16T has trouble holding 17 psi at higher rpms.

upgraded impeller and compressor wheel are the same thing

the only thing that helps at higher RPM is the wastegate, not port and polish

though what does interest me is that 3'' M3 MAF sensor, did Emil do that ?
does it work fine ?

oh and another thing, your "compressor wheel upgrade" which is from Turbochargers.com if they used the same wheel I have, it is bigger then the 16T and 18T, so if you do get the 16T, you will be downgrading unless you switch wheels
