Isn't a looser front suspension better for hooking up on a launch? It seems like that to me, I tuned my Konis back up to standard and the tires seem to grip a helluva lot better.

In RWD you want a suspension that will transfer weight to the rears, so soft front, stiff rear.
Loose in suspension terms means bad bushings ect.. different than soft/hard.
On FWD, I'd imagine you'd want the HARDEST rear and possibly quite stiff front suspension as well

Well when I had my Konis turned down to GT mode, I could launch @3500rpms and spin halfway thru 2nd before I got over 5mph. Tonight and I turned them back to standard and in a slick parking lot I didn't spin near as much. Note my Konis still are pretty stiff even not turned down, but it seemed to help w/ traction.

I always thought it'd be the opposite....
In RWD you would want weight to transfer to the rear... to accomplish this you would want the car to sag or sit to the rear... hence soft rear springs and stiff front springs so to keep the front from sagging....
and opposite for FWD... stiff rear springs to push the rear up... and soft front to enable more tilt to the front...
am i wrong?

As Doug said you want weight transfer on a RWD. But zero on FWD to keep as much weight on the front, which is why FWD drag cars use wheelie bars to keep the front end from lifting.
From the list of mods I'd say you're past the traction of your tires or you're launching too hard. More mods do not aleays mean faster!
Try dropping your stall speed.

Yeah I usually launch around 2900, give it 50% throttle for about a second, they slam it. I gotta do it fast or else it shifts up into 2nd. I guess using the L would take care of that but I don't like doing that.

edit: As far as RWD...a soft front suspension will not only let the car sink down on the tires, but let it rise up away from the tires. This will let the weight transfer to the rear when the front end lifts up. Once u have the weight on the back wheels, the stiffer the suspension, the harder the tires will be pushed into the ground, hence giving u better traction.
