So i was looking at the front of the car and those stupid horns were just sitting in the way of my intercooler. it made me not happy

So. i removed them. i also cut off the little random tabs (lower tabs not the horn mounting tabs) on both sides after i took this picture

then after that I originally was going to leave them out. instead i decided to find a spot for them.

I removed my headlight wipers and stuck them both in the drive side. It took some time and finesse but i got them to fit just about perfect! they are not as loud clearly but still work well.

So far its pretty nice. it just seems to flow better and seems happier. the horns are also very stable where they are, ripped through some back roads and did not fall out!
haha.

not the most amazing mod. but for free i like it!

cant tell if sarcastic or not. but there is no other forum that is appropriate. sure as hell is not maintenance or news.

wither or not you think this is performance increasing flow through a heat exchanger helps. and thus helps performance. to what degree? probably very little but none the less.

Cosmetic mod. Most put them under the inner fender -that way they're not muffled.

the relocation was not to make it look better. it was to increase the flow through the intercooler.

but thats a good spot for em. how are they mounted?

Use the original mount brackets, bolt them to the bracket that retains the charcoal cannister.

I need to relocate mine as well. I started doing it once but the wiring gave me some troubles as it was way too tight and I didn't have enough time to take parts off then. I should probably do it this summer though.

I put mine under the fender area like the examples stated before but mine got water damaged. Got a new pair from a junk yard for 2 dollars so no harm done but anyone else have this problem?

I didn't move mine for performance. Put on a mesh grill and was tired of seeing the floating horns.

To avoid water ingress you have to pay attention to the orientation of the horn outlet - you don't want them pointing forward or straight up where water will enter and sit. I made that mistake the first time I did them.
