So, I've started having starting issues that I'm pretty sure are related to a bad check valve. I was going to install an inline check valve behind the fuel filter as Jim (JRL) suggests and says that he's done on 2000 MY cars, but the check valve I ordered states that it is not to be used on returnless systems. I've also read a few posts with people who have tried on 99 and 00 cars and other makes with returnless systems who have said they have problems with overpressure after installing them - some to the point of bending fuel rails, leaks and starting fires!
So, while Jim is knowledgeable, I'm relunctant to do this until I can be satisfied that I'm not going to have issues. Is this a safe install for returnless systems?
If not, then I guess I'm going to be replacing the whole fuel pump. Probably this. I presume the check valve is built in as it is on the stock one?

if you have long cranks, just do it
Where do you think I found out about this?
My VOLVO dealer.
If you mount it PROPERLY it should be fine
The best place is right behind the fuel filter, we actually attach it to back of the filter
(Buy a new filter at this time)
