First off, sorry if this has been discussed a million billion times already....I did a search for 15g upgrade, mod, yadda yadda and kept coming up endless lists of threads talking about swapping turbos.

Ive got a spare good condition, low mileage 15g turbo layin around, and Im curious if theres anything I can do with it other than rebuild it, such as upgrading the compressor housing and wheel, or other modifications to make it more efficient.

Or would this not be a cost effective route.....?

Got in touch with Majestic Turbo here in Waco, TX. They quoted me $695 for 18T or 19T hybrydizing, including full rebuild, balancing, and porting the exhaust housing.

Is that a reasonable price? This is new territory for so Im not sure what to look out for.

For a couple hundred more, you can get a Hahn RaceCraft 20g. 18t/19T isn't really much of an upgrade. If you can't get it for >$300, I wouldn't bother going that route.
