currently running the stock ones and they bottem out under heavy bass and pop. mostly when the speed sensitive audio kicks in but also just when they are load and heavy mid bass
i remember looking into this once before and reading something about
8ohm vs 4ohm stock speakers etc.
enlighten me...
thanks in advance,
greg

I sure hope the size is 6.5", I've just bought 4ohm components to replace the stockers, as well as amps, subs & another new head unit.

What are the rear doors in the 850? 6"? Odd size. Will 6.5" fit?

Everyone in there says the rear doors are 5.25", which I found to be very incorrect when I bought a set and tried to put them in my rear doors. The stock speaker measures ~5-7/8" and is slightly ovaled to fit a wave-guide that clips onto the back of it.http://volvospeed.co...stereo-threads/ this is stickied at the top of the audio forum papariccardo
I just bought these for what I thought was the rear doors, but they fit perfectly into the front doors and sound pretty good for ~$50 for the set.

Since you have a sub, you should look at adding either a high pass filter or in-line "bass blockers" to cut out the lowest frequencies from heading to the door speakers.

Balance your system.

Just be sure to avoid heavy bass making it to your door speakers, new or old. They just aren't made for it.
