I recently became the owner of my Dad's old 854 Turbo. I decided to sell my old car and make this my new daily driver with the intent to race it on track days, autocross, rally, etc. Basically, make it fun. This is my build. I will keep it updated as I go. Sorry I didn't really take many pictures but if anyone wants I can take more and post them. Let me know. Would really appreciate any suggestions comments.

Plastidipped the Nebula's, will probably have them powdercoated when I paint the car

Plastidipped the bumpers, also temporary until I paint the car. I'll probably match the color to the paint. Thinking of keeping it white though.

This is with just the front coilovers installed. I raised it up a bit since that picture, there was a lot of rubbing lol

Right now its in the shop, getting the subframe bushings replaced. Don't have a lift or a hoist to get it done unfortunately. On a good note, my mechanic used to race Volvo's so I'm real happy with him. I'll keep everyone updated as I get along with the build. I'll take more pictures in the future.

They won't be black for long. When I paint the car I'll put them back to stock or powdercoat them another color. Welcome to suggestions. Gonna paint it white all around, no more black trim. I know that it's not a new turbo, but it's new to my car.

What do you mean by "my new daily driver with the intent to race it on track days, autocross, rally, etc" ?
Those things require completely different setups. Not to mention that rally car + daily driver doesn't really work (ask me how I know, haha)
I'd suggest picking ONE race related idea and doing it lightly so as not to trash your only means of transportation.
STS class autocross is a good choice as it uses lightly modded street cars and isn't too abusive.
Here's my most recent track + daily build as an example - http://volvospeed.co...ocrosser-build/

2003 S60 2.4T: FMIC, 16T, OZ Wheels, B&G S2 Springs, etc. - 106k --- 1994 855 Turbo "Zombie Wagon": Roof rack, Push bar, 13 psi - 250k --- 1995 855 Turbo "Nessie": Replacement for the Zombie Wagon - 170k

Thats the stupidest fucking thing I have seen posted in a while...So you're saying someone can't take their daily driver to the weekend autocross or to track days at, say, Nelsons Ledges a couple times a year?

You can't enter an SCCA rally with a daily driver??

He didn't say he was entering the WRC
Are you the new expert on amateur racing here?

1000s of people EVERY weekend autocross and take their DAILY DRIVERS to the track..

Of course if you want to run from Zombies you need to build a special purpose vehicle for that too right? :arob:

AWWWWWW MAN!!!! So I cant take my car to the track if I wanted to??? I suppose I probably can't take it to the drag strip either because then it would be a drag racer and not a DD and I can't have both a DD, track car, and a drag car. This sucks. :( :( :(

OP....track the shit out of your DD!!!! If it breaks, fix it quick. Shit, having more than one car is overrated anyways.

I understand what you are saying about not using a daily driver but that's really all I can afford and I want to have a damn good time with what I can manage. Besides that though, I have a motorcycle, always good backup.

Just installed 55 Watt 6000K HID's today. Got them for a good price from DDM Tuning. Happy with the results. Looks good and really improves visibility.

Have you thought about the RZ design projectors?

Also how long are you going to be down here? just the summer?

Haven't bought projectors. In my experience, projectors don't have the same road coverage as reflectors. And yea I'll be here until mid-August.

I appreciate it. The only thing right now that I'm having a lot of trouble with right now is finding the electrical problem my car is having. The doors keep unlocking and locking randomly, the radio and central locking fuse keeps blowing, and my obd2 input isn't getting any power.

But projectors (if done right) do have the added benefit of not blinding people, unlike when some douchebag decides to just drop 55w HID into stock reflector headlights.

Thanks bro

Or you can suggest a cheap projector or retrofit instead of being a douche yourself.
