Hello everyone im pretty new to the site but been wondering here for a while. So i have a 96 850r and the other day I had a boost cut off for about a second and i had read about this so i replace the three hoses right by the intake that go to waste gate and turbo and intake like this diagram below

And drove the car and floored and notice that it didn't feel as hard like it was, and my stock boost gauge would not go as far, I did notice when I change the hose that the originals are bigger inside can this cause this problem. Also I just seen my top engine mount is broken and it wasn't like that. Here is a pic of the hoses.

I know broken engine mounts can cause loss of power and torque, can this be my problem. Thanks in advance.

You positive you have everything connected at the bcs properly? And that difference in those will not matter. Make sure you dont have any leaks or torn vac lines sound like you have a boost leak to me. Inspect all the charge pipes, vac lines and intake pipe for any tears or loose clamps.... With the car running spray starter fluid or carb cleaner around suspected areas, if the car surges or sputters then you know you found a leak, good luck.

What kind of hose did you use when you replaced them? I once used motion pro fuel line due to a cracked hose, didn't work too well, it felt like the hoses were collapsing under boost and pinching off. gave the same problem low boost, switched to the silicone lines when then came in and no more low boost...
hope that helps.

Your best bet is to order a few feet of silicone hose from IPD.

If one of those hoses was leaking before the car may have been making boost with no regulation (20+psi or so) which is why it felt faster. How far does the needle go on your stock boost gauge and how far did it go before?

If you were getting fuel cutout, I would take a guess you were hitting the 15psi ECU cap. If the hose going to your wastegate was leaking or connected incorrectly, that could've caused your wastegate to open too late or not at all. This would undoubtedly give you more power, but you would eventually hit fuel cut. It might be your car is boosting at it's normal stock levels now and you just aren't used to it. How far up the gauge does the boost go? I don't have a stock gauge, but I believe it should go just into the white. Also, you have to give the ECU time to relearn. Try resetting the battery, if you haven't already, and drive 25-50 miles to let it relearn. I would also recommend hooking up a real boost gauge and get actual reported numbers.

Broken engine mounts do not cause any loss in torque and horsepower. But you should get that top one fixed soon since it will overstress the others and then they will all need replacement.

So I reset the computer and drove it today and it seems like its boosting normal again. Here a quick video. And it actually pull a bit harder than this video after I drove some more miles. And thanks guys for all the help. I just want to get my car ready for my ard ecu and minor mods.
