Lots of friends use the harbor freight race jacks w/ 0 issues and have used them for years. I've been using a Yarin for years, but recently had to repair it.

NAPA too..They have decent jacks. we have a NAPA and a Craftsman at the shop and the craftsman is 7 months old, the NAPA is 8 years old. aside from a seized wheel on the NAPA (we do work on salt trucks) it works better than the craftsman

Another fucking  s70: with Lots of zip-ties, a power antenna, and a bitchin shift knob... the only mods that matter.

i've had a harbor freight racing jack for years without any issues...but it rarely gets used....still, it seems like a quality piece for only about $50 when i bought it some years ago....i had one before it also, but it got stolen from the garage i believe.

the general consensus is that the lower capacity lightweight racing jacks work fine but can puke oil. That being said I bought this one recently

http://www.harborfre...68053-html.html

bought when it was 39.99 and have been using it non stop since I got it.
only complaint is the rubber piece starts to come off after a couple uses.

couple locals have it as well.
HF runs specials on them all the time.

Here's a 3ton version in black for 89.99.

I have an HF 3-ton steel jack I bought a few years ago. I've used it hundreds of times and no issues with it. It's heavy though, about 90#.

Next time you buy something that's Craftsman, check out Northern Tool and HF for something comparable. There's a good chance that the Craftsman piece is the exact same thing, but rebranded and double or triple the price. Such as my clam-shell strut compressor, air compressor, impact gun, floor jack, bench-vise and a shitload of other things.

Rarely is something there ever a good deal and the quality of their tools has gone to shit. They have nothing that differentiates them from the competition anymore. The only reason they're still hanging in there is because there are still enough older people around that still think the place is relevant or don't know any better. As soon as the baby-boomers start filling up the nursing homes Sears will be completely gone.
