Regarding a BBK for my V70R. Can I use my stock brake lines or do i need to order SS lines. What fluid should I use, or do I have to bleed my entire brake system.

Any info from you guys (and or gals with a BBK set up) would be sweet!

yeah you should use SS lines with this fluid

http://www.tirerack....&cat=BrakeFluid

And you should flush the whole system with the new fluid by pouring it in the resevior and pumping the brakes while opening each caliper and letting it bleed out until it turns blue.

SS for sure.

honestly i felt like the stock length SS lines were too short. Hanks and I had custom lines made for these brakes, seem to be holding up way better. The rubber on the crimped end usually goes bad over time because the lines were not long enough.

The ss ones you gave me work great, not sure where those came from though. I bled the entire system with super blue fluid.

Ipd sells longer lines specifically for the bbk. I have them and they are the perfect length.

I'd pass on the ATE super Blue. The Blue stains the inside of the lines and it will turn amber fluid blue... I just flushed out the Super Blue for Typ 200 Amber and 2 months later it's blue again. The worst part is that it's harder to see the air bubbles in the blue then amber. And all my bleeding hoses that were clear are stained blue now...

none of those reasons are important to me, I dont care if my lines are stained blue, I like blue haha. All your reasons are only if you want to get rid of the blue later. The bubbles thing I guess is a point, but once they are all out I have never needed to look for bubbles so why care? I like that the brake fluid match my hoses and my coolant. I guess its the small things. haha

I think most of us are less concerned about color matching brake fluid and coolant hoses and more about making the job easy every 3 years when you have to flush it (thats why I originally got the blue to make it easier to flush from amber). Hey whatever floats your boat.

But like I said once you go blue, you are blue forever!

Ok, so I just got dont purchasing Pads, SS Lines and Fluid. I got the pads off ebay, cheap pads lol. How long do you think the cheapies will last. I plan on getting new rotors maybe next month depending on how much they chew up my pads....

You've spent all this money on the set up and you go with cheap pads ? C'me on man..... Pony up for good pads so you get the most out of the kit and don't cover your wheels in brake dust.

Cheap pads squeal like a pig. It'll annoy the hell out of you.
