Tuners Rejoice! Free Tuning For M4.4!

Recommended Posts

M4.4 can use many different communication protocols. Unless the code-disabling byte is preventing the fault check itself, some protocols may still read the fault code.

Does anyone know how to use real 9-bit serial mode on a PC?

I'm trying to use the McMess protocol, but the PC doesn't understand the replies from the ECU.

I know this is about tuning. but is there a way to clear the SRS light using this? i know that would be very helpful for anyone that accidentally dident disconnect their air bag when working on dash or seat belts.

I doubt you'll find much help here on such an arcane serial connection. Why are you interested in the McMess protocol, it's speed is much too slow for usable datalogging.

No, even if I could I would not disable the SRS light. If it bothers you, remove the light from you dash.

I don't know what the McMess is capable of on M4.4 yet, so I wanted to figure it out.

If you have any information about it, please let me know.

Read ROM command seems to be limited to bank2 also in McMess.

On some VW ME7 it is supposed to be able to log 270 bytes/sec in 10400bps mode, and 1000bytes/second in high speed mode.

9-bit serial is also used in M1.8 high speed mode. 187500bps

I don't really know anything useful about McMess, just information I've read from a few posts about it.

I didn't realized that each flash bank contained the RPM limiter. I added 2 additional scalars to allow for both RPM limits to be adjusted. New .xdf link is in first post.

You can reset the light using Vol-FCR. I think moped's reply assumes you are trying to delete it, not reset it.

Hmmm... Interesting, I acted on a hunch and assumed that was the only map for the idle target. I just looked through the DAMOS again and couldn't seem to find any other target idle maps for idle. You should look through the DAMOS and see if you can find any related maps.

If you flash and MotronicSuite gives you the "Flash Completed Successfully" Message and your car starts it is verification enough to prove that you did flash the ECU.
