I have seen Jcheun4's video in person with him sitting next to me of it running low 14's. All he had was a manual boost controller, no ecu nor exhaust modification. I believe hidden mechanical problems, abuse to turbo via oil starvation by not letting warm up and poor ecu tuning are the reasons people are not showing higher times. That and tires, lots of people spin the tires. I spin em in a strait line with just chip without brake torquing and I have near new yokohama ultra high performance

I have a friend with a Honda civic Ex with jus intake and an 5zigen fireball exhaust.. and he seriously pulls on the exact same cars as his with the same exact mods as his... his car is just really quick for some reason and we all cant tell why

But the car has a big impact, too. A Volvo S70 T5 M isn't gonna run a 13.5 stock, period. Also, I should note that I remember noticing in the C&D and R&T roadtests for the High Output T5/R engine that the 0-60 at 40,000 always seemed to be lower than at 0 miles. Probably because the ECU adapted to the car over those 40,000 mi. For example, the T-5R in one magazine (don't recal which ) ran around a 6.9 second 0-60 and a 15.2 @ 9- when new. On their 40,000 mi column it read 6.3 seconds 0-60 and 14.8 @ 9- instead. It's safe to say that all the brand new cars all the magazines tested times can be taken with a grain of salt, but expert driving is also a factor.

You guys who complain about spin when you don't even boost need to learn to ease onto the pedal. Flooring it isn't always the answer.

Wow, this is interesting.  I actually gave some credit to S70 R's claims and now everyone's screaming "Oh hush! Oh hush! stop being mean, Mr. Know it all."  I love volvospeed.

In all fairness only a small portion of the thread was devoted to telling S70 R that he sucks.  The rest was me bitching about the evo.  Oh well.

I just hate how quick some folks here are to put another down over NOTHING, on a Volvo forum especially, you shouldn't expect much stuff, maybe I'm wrong, you're the only person I've seen that's pulled it like a kid would, and out of my kindness I believed you and tried to back you up being it I thought you were an adult, but besides your instance nope not really. No reason to lie here...

Let's face the "fact", S70R had a run in with an Evo (VERY STOCK) on the highway, beat it and that's that, there's no "No." about it unless he's lieing which I doubt....

This is what set it off for Joe, I'm sure. Joe is always bitching about how mods don't do jack on Volvo's, and in this case he is very, very right. As doug said before, the aftermarket for an Evo is much larger. In addition, it is much cheaper to modify an Evo than a Volvo T5 or any other Volvo engine I believe. Furthermore, the mods you do will provide more gain on the Evo than the Volvo. The rest was just Joe continuing on his asshole roll. Don't mind that.
