Great Parts department...ask for Kenny and say you are friends with Josh (white 850 Turbo)...he'll hook you up if you're not a douche bag....however, its still a stealership so watch out....

Never had service done there.

I used to like thier parts department when I dealt with Kirein. Now they have this guy that is rude to peope. Last time I was there a guy was trying to buy a bunch of parts and asked if there was anything he could do on price and the parts guy started ranting on about feeding his children etc etc. very...VERY unprofessional! I have been to Martens Volvo and they were leaps and bounds above Herg Gordon!

Herb Gordon's service staff are not much better! When ever I went in there, I felt like they were doing me a great favor by answering my questions. Very condesending. I would never bring my car for service there. I much prefer Scandinavian Import Servicenter in Rockville. Great service and phenomenal prices! For a dealer, I would go to Martens Volvo in Bethesda (Service).

Not trying to defend the rude parts guy but most of the parts people work off of commission. So when they give you a discount they are in fact taking money out of their pocket and putting it in yours.

I bought my volvo there. I had this tiny chinese lady as my salesperson...a nice person, but when we finished the test drive she says, "oh, can you pull it over here and park it? I cant drive stickshift..." I thought it was kinda weird that someone who works at a dealership cant drive stick. anyway, I went to the dealership becuase I saw the car in a used car ad for 7500. I didnt bring the ad with me, and they quoted 8500 for the car. a bit dismayed, I went and got the ad, and I they went and dropped the price to the price listed in the classified.

my aunt also bought her xc90 there, and since my uncle (my aunts husband) knew the owner of mile one, he got a good deal or something. they had the same sales lady and reported a good experience.

overall, I guess it was ok. nothing outstanding, nothing terrible. so take these anecdotes with whatever grain of salt you would like. just my personal experiences.

I just had my 70k service done there, the staff was friendly and the loaner car they gave me was in excellent condition.

on the negative though, the prices were steep (they wanted $1400 for a steering rack) and they didn't do everything included in the service (never tightened the parking brake, didn't notice the top engine mount was all but gone, the hazards didn't work etc etc etc).

Overall they weren't bad, but I would definitely go elsewhere since there are so many other volvo dealers around DC.

my experience with this establishment has been really good actually. i always deal with a spanish guy who's named jose. and at the end of 06 we got a brand new 06 s80 for like $29000. there were huge markdowns. and we got extra money off because we bought from them before. haha. we really have never bought from there before. they're pretty good in my humble opinion.
