I'm blown away

I'm not, actually. Enough people were pissed off at the PC culture and the blatant corruption that they rejected a corrupt candidate, crazy right?

I fear that religion and fear will be used to remove the rights of the weak, such as transgender bathroom issues and LGBTQ rights. Mike Pence does not like gay people and advocates for conversion therapy SOURCE

Trump will probably not accomplish a lot, I can see Obamacare being repealed but who knows what it will be replaced with (hopefully single payer). I see EPA regulations being curbed back as well as coal/oil/natural gas production being ramped up.

My generation rejected Trump, as seen here. The future generation saw through the guise, so best of luck to everyone with a GOP controlled congress. I wonder if the "liberal media" will be to blame for all of this

I tried to tell everybody a storm was coming.  ;)

No one wants a storm Gary, if there is any constant to our republic continuing on is positive course is good change happens slowly, with movements becoming zeitgeists.

Everyone knows most of Trump's major policy proposals are not possible.  While he answers to no person, he does have to answer to this little thing called the constitution.

I can only imaging it will be his bedtime book for the next 100 days.

Blah, blah, blah. The people have spoken.  Let's move on. I sure hope he is successful at simply being a decent President.

Regie Hamm perfectly captures my mood on the nonsense going on ever since Tuesday night.

 I told my wife that Kelly Conway and Ivanka Trump's new job was going to be remedial US Government 101.

I won some money from it.  $100 that he wouldn't take Michigan and $80 that he wouldn't win.  The guy placing the $80 wager wanted to go a lot higher but I placed that months ago and I was skeptical then.  I wanted to go higher on the Michigan bet but the other side wouldn't.  I personally thought the spread for Michigan was going to be a lot higher than it was, I knew he was going to win but I didn't think it was going to be that close.  The west side of the state really surprised me.

Have we ever seen one party control the presidency, senate and congress all at the same time?

If we start moving backwards towards retarded religious traditions... IE getting rid of birth control, banning abortion, etc.... I'm out.

Don't see that happening.  Just doing the things that Obama couldn't.  Its really not going to be hard for him to be successful.  His predecessor left the bar on the ground.  lol

Actually it doesn't eat at me whatsoever Gary.  I'm perfectly calm about this.  The people spoke and because I support our democratic republic and our history of peaceful transition, Trump is our President and I pray he does well.

Trump is President and the Democrats failed because this was a year of change when so many were tired with what they have been served through Obama (the ACA, social issues, but most importantly because they think they're getting screwed by the economy and are tired of elite politicians who don't care about them one fig).  That's exactly what Pie argues.  It's a Change year and Hillary wasn't just damaged and a liar but also a continuation of the elite establishment.

Thanks for trying though.

When Jimmy Carter was elected in 1976, when Bill Clinton was elected in 1996. After the midterm elections in George W Bush's presidency in 2004.  After Obama was elected in 2008.  And basically all of the 1960s under Kennedy and Johnson, all of the 40's under FDR.

Well I'll step up and admit I'm petrified.   I'd be more animated if I wasn't still numb.

My family is of a socioeconomic position I won't see much/any change really.   I'm scarred for the less fortunate.

Aca, abortion, immigration, religion showing its head even more in our politics. I can go on but it's all tied to the Supreme Court.  This is what has me frozen in fear.

I have hope, but I can promise, I will be on here preaching about ever little thing the orange man promised and doesn't fulfill.

I do not see my future in the US after my wife finishes her degree if Trump nominates multiple ultra conservative supreme court justices. Religion is not a reason to implement fear and hatred, unfortunately people like Mike Pence do not know where to draw the line.

Part of me sees the GOP trying to knock Trump out and put Pence in power, that would be fucking SCARY

Are you fucking kidding me?  Turn the Facebook off and man up.  Where are you going to move to?  The Middle East?  Mexico?  Canada doesn't want you, just so you know.

Food for thought..American politics have been fairly steady for a long time and this is where I'm going to veer way off track.  We see young people protesting all over the country right now because somebody lost...guess what?  Somebody always loses but I haven't seen people out tearing shit up like this in my lifetime over an election.  This is where you ask yourself the question, is your generation getting played by the media and those controlling it?  Do they not have the ability to think critically and therefore believe everything they read online and then run with it?

I'm seeing coverage of 18-25 year old white kids that say they "are scared".  What the fuck are they scared of?  They haven't seen a fucking thing in their short lily-white existence and now they're scared of an old white man.  I've taken my kids through the shittiest parts of the city to check out the girls tricking for heroin and they could care less, and here we have our precious millennials shedding tears over an election.

They haven't seen or experienced shit in their lifetimes yet act like they've been through Vietnam and then killed by Casey Anthony.
